When was Apocalypse in his prime?

StiltmanFTW
Comic, 616?

Probably when he had his original body, classic look.

As for amped versions, not sure. Either The Twelve or when he fought Inhumans and X-Men.

TAS Apocalypse deserves a mention, as he was truly unstoppable in that show.

CosmicComet
He had great monologues in TAS too

He was perfect in TAS. Darkseid wants to be like him when he grows up.

So bad ass and corny at once. In other words a great villain

I actually was just introduced to Apocalypse actually, does he have any powers other than giving amps and manipulating sand?

I'm sure he does, I just don't know them.

I actually burst out laughing at the "manipulating sand" part.

Tons of them.

In comics, he does whatever writers want him to do.

Which includes (but is not limited to) shapeshifting, TP, TK, regen, energy projection, immortality, technopathy, teleportation and other stuff.

Most of the time he does what all comic book characters do though, which is punch and make angry faces.

Worked fine against Thor.

Someone took notes and replicated that excellent strategy in a recent comic... shifty

StiltmanFTW
He's a cooler version of Thanos, basically.

I made this thread for the sole purpose of learning about Apocalypse outside of the movies. smile

In comics, probably the one who fought X-Factor + Inhumans.

Including all, the best version is of course Apocalypse in X-Men TAS.

That Spider-Man game with Monster Ock also made me think he was the most powerful in Marvel. Which is weird because I watched Silver Surfer before I played that game.

I'd blame TricksterPriest for forcing the pendulum to swing into the other end, but I wouldn't give him that much credit.
