Byrne era Superman, and Walter Simonson era Thor switch places with each other.

These would be the era's of Beta Ray Bill and Surtur, Lex Luthor the evil corporate Kingpin clone (Look alike only. Actually as fat as he looks), Vril Dox Brainiac, ect.

How do they fare in each others settings? Who does better?

Thor dies in Man of Steel #1, as he is neither man, nor made of steel.

Good thread.

I think Thor does the best, especially if you factor in the fact that Supes will be fighting magical beings.

Superman is amazed to find that the strange earth he has just been shunted to, is inhabited entirely by beings that he cannot even scratch, with strength and powers that make him seem much like a man-shaped jellyfish in their presence. Children laugh as he mewls and begs them not to harm his soft, fragile bones.

Meanwhile, after finding himself on an unfamiliar duplicate of earth, Thor becomes annoyed. It would seem that beings dressed as superheroes, (lightning bolt ensignia, a golden lasso, glowing green jewelery, etc), continue to hurl themselves against the Thunder God.
With each strike, they burst like soap bubbles against his frame, making quite a mess. He frowns when he moves to gently grasp a supposed "speedster" in red, only to find himself holding a dismemberrd arm, still twitching.

And then you woke up.
