Balder throws away his sword and pummels Ares with his fists alone.

Then Colossus appears and solos them both, while naked and really, really hard.

Ares after a good fight. God of Light Balder would win though.

Hard to say. If Balder uses his light power, he wins.

Ares is stronger, but Balder is probably faster than Ares is stronger. This would probably be a stalemate.

If Ares didn't have a noticeable healing factor that makes him almost impossible to put down in the modern age, Balder would have stabbed him to death imo. As it stands, it almost certainly would be a stalemate. Ares has a bigger name brand now though.

Balder supposedly can move at the speed of light when he is in Asgard.

He also should be totally immune to any weapon not made of mistletoe but writers seem to ignore that.

Could have made for some interesting reading.
