Fight takes place on Ego's planet but Thanos knows nothing about Ego's weakness.

Thanos starts off with no Infinity stones. Question is, how many stones does he need to defeat Ego?

Only the power stone.

Thanos needs at least 1 stone yes. Definitely could not do it on his own.

Assuming Thanos is able to activate the Power Stone before Ego skewers him with a mega-sized-spiked-planet-dildo up his purple ass, Thanos takes it with the his first stone, the Power Stone.

People are assuming that Thanos automatically goes planet buster on Ego, but remember that Thanos doesn't know about the connection between Ego and the planet. It's highly unlikely that he'll immediately destroy the planet, especially if this will end up with him flaoting around in space.

He needs one stone to kill Ego, two stones to kill him and then survive what happens.

Doesnt matter; ignoring the OP gets Thanos the win, so thats what ppl are gonna do.

But yes, he would need at least the power stone, which he of course wouldnt get before getting skewered with a mega-sized-spiked-planet-dildo up his purple ass.

Again, one stone and he could do it.

Power stone: blow up the planet
Space stone: dislodge the core of the planet then destroy it
Reality stone: Stop anything ego tries to do to him then turn the core into bubbles
Soul stone: ??? but probably something
Time stone: Revert Ego to an earlier less developed state and end him
Mind stone: Probably mind **** him, lesser powers than the mind stone such as Mantis subdued him, albeit temporarily.

From what we're shown of him without the stones, idk

Not sure how Ego's tentacle ****ing would interact with Thanos's durability since it's an obscure attack. We know it doesn't work on Peter with his powers, but it does work on people with much much less durability than Thanos.

Also Ego's other firepower like against the sovereign fleet. Would that overcome Thanos? OR do the fleet's ships not have the most impressive durability?

If Thanos can deal with the attacks and make it to the core though, he could definitely punch the **** through the core shell and destroy it.
