Looks good. Really liked Get Out.

Get out was amazing, this looks good too

Patient_Leech
Yeah, I'm slightly cautious because this almost looks too wacky, but I'm inclined to trust Peele because Get Out was so good. It just depends on what's going on. I admit I'm very curious to know what's going on because it looks awesome.

Is there a sequel to get out in the pipe line? mhmm

Patient_Leech
F#ck, this is getting really good reviews...

Not good.. Shades of Ghostbusters and Star Trek Discovery.

When the critics universally acclaim something, you just know they're ticking the "social relevance" checklists.

Point taken, but after Get Out it could also be that the filmmaker is just good.

Well, it did end up with a 74% from critics on RT. That's outrageous for such an abominable piece of shit.

Khazra Reborn
Ironically, I just watched the Twilight Zone episode this movie was heavily influnced by, the other day.

Should be seeing this tomorrow evening. Really pumped, as Get Out - along with A Quiet Place - were two recent horror movies that legitimately had me on the edge of my seat and uncomfortable without jump scares and torture porn.

BruceSkywalker
seeing this next week

Ending was pretty crazy.

Think I still prefer Get out

The movies is entertaining though suspension of disbelief is definitely tested in this film

Quincy
I enjoyed the movie. Pretty cool flick with a great ending.

However I agree with Wakka about the suspension of disbelief. I have aLOT of questions that are more centered around logistics than anything else.

I got 5 on it will be stuck in my head for a month though

John Murdoch
Agreed to all three above comments.

- Why didn't Adelaide just find her way back out of the tunnels? All the tethered were doing was eating rabbit raw and doing their zombie shuffle thing.

- Adelaide's plan had one massive weakness: anyone with guns. Guns > brass-handled scissors.

- Quincy, you're spot-on with the logistics questions: where did they get millions of red jumpsuits? millions of pairs of the abovementioned scissors? How can all the tethered stand in the hands across America line in perfect coordination with limited technology (it seems) for planning and without needing to sleep, eat, drink, etc.?

- Winston Duke/the dad is completely cool with his wife going solo into the tethered's tunnel system to find their kidnapped son? WHAT??!!

The Biggest Dog
Has anyonebelse seen it? The big reveal was telegraphed from the first fifteen minutes.

Shit film.

Yeah, I agree.

I watched this and I admit I enjoyed it. The use of music and suspense and performances are great. Peele is a very skilled filmmaker. But I'm not entirely sure the story made much sense. So by the end of it I was like, "Well, whatever... it's silly, but entertaining." Was the point supposed to be that it was some sort of biblical tribulation going on? With the Jeremiah 11:11 references..

It makes me think of M. Night Shamalannanandan a little. Talented filmmaker, but needs to probably bring in another writer or two to flesh it out better.

This.

It was a technically well made film; the execution was flawless and entertaining. My major gripe was that it took on more than it could properly convey.

5/10

Yeah, I wanted to like it. I really did. Peele is an extremely talented guy. But the writing was just too flimsy.

Oliver Brown
It wouldn't be as truly terrifying as it is without the jaw-dropping performance from his leading lady, Nyong'o, and with this collaboration they have created another whip-smart modern horror classic.
