It's racist to dress up as Michael Jackson? Since when? Some context would be nice

Flyattractor
Are we talking about Black Michael Jackson or White Michael Jackson?

jaden_2.0
Is it racist for Michael Jackson to dress up as Black Panther?

Ralph Northam admitted he dressed up as Michael Jackson and that was viewed as racist.

Bashar Teg
Oh I see, he went blackface and you're deliberately misrepresenting the situation.

No, Im asking if its racist to wear blackface as Michael Jackson, would it be racist to wear blackface as a black panther.

If so, how would a white person decide to cosplay or for Halloween as black panther without being viewed as racist?

Bashar Teg
It's racist to wear blackface. Pretty simple when you don't deliberately poison the topic with pettifoggery and deceit

BrolyBlack
So if you dress up as black panther, you would be viewed a racist as well?

Depends if you went the whole hog and blacked up as T'challa as well. I'm sure there would be irrational people who would think so regardless though.

in blackface: yes
without blackface: probably not

that's what this topic is really about: white people putting on blackface.
how about we put on a bit of intellectual honesty and admit that?

BrolyBlack
Yes it was about white people putting on a blackface. No dishonesty just asking, thanks for the clarification.

It's not just the black face that bothers leftists when it comes to stuff like this. Remember people crying over kids wearing Moana Halloween costumes?

But these days some folk think coal miners are in black face lol.

White people just can't win, you dress up as Bob Marley one Halloween and you're being racially insensitive, so the next Halloween you stick to your own and dress up like a Nazi and people still refuse to talk to you!

Unless you're Prince Harry. Then it's ok.

Lol yeah, the press went off on him for all of like 2 days then it was never mentioned again.

MythLord
Wearing a Black Panther suit wouldn't be racist, no. Smearing your face with brown paint, then putting on cat ears and saying "I'm the Black Panther!" is a bit racist, yes.

yeah you're right. who cares about blackface. the real victims are white people who really want to dress up as black panther but would feel awkward about it because you never know when you're going to run into a gang of pissed off israelites. i would give you a bro hug if you were here. stay strong. chin up. even though you don't care about BP and until minutes ago didn't even know he had cat ears

It's not like leftists threw a whiny b*tch fit recently over a white guy being chosen to model a Black Panther sweater, right? Lol oh shit that totally happened.
Sutur, there's always going to be an extremist SJW who thinks a white man breathing next to a black man is racist. I agree that the reaction to a white guy wearing a BP sweater is in fact unjustified.

The reaction to a politican wearing black face while next to someone dressed as a KKK member, though, is absolutely justified.

You notice how they always pull that strawman though? If you point out any sort of discrimination against whites they act like you're saying "nobody has it worse than white people".

I think disgust at what he did and demanding an apology from him is justified. I do not feel his resignation is justified.

So basically what that means is if you got a kid that can't BUY and Offical BP Costume and then just makes his own...that is what can be the big determination between Racist and Not Racist?
