Fantomax is a plot device. Very few get past his missdirection.
Leaning toward him slightly.

Fantomex.

His illusions could be psychic. Probably aren't. He's fooled Phoenix Jean, Shadow King and Prof X, and I'm not in any way gonna assume he's overpowering them with psychic powers. So it's something else.

Whereas Brainwave's tech helps against psychics only.

Should have put him against Max Lord. Whatever he does clearly isn't TP either.

Fantomex never misdirected Jean or Xavier.

Misdirection would absolutely work on Brainwave Jr either way though. And Fantomex is completely immune to telepathy, aside from one absurdly high end Psylocke showing. He's one of the few people that outdoes Superman in TP resistance, granted it's through tech.
