This will be one to watch. Libel cases are generally very hard to prove. But this judge is also known for ignoring politics (from both sides) and precedent for what she thinks is just.

"Hard but fair", the losing attorney is known to say.

Robtard
Jones really screwed himself here, back when this first started a year+ ago Jones' lawyer used the defense of "he's just entertainment, nothing he says is to be taken as factual" as the platform to defend from which was the smart thing to do, but Jones scuttled that, reversed on his own lawyer and claimed he said what he meant and he meant what he said as being truth.

Now he has to swear under oath on all the vile nonsense he's spilled concerning the Sandy Hook murders (20 kids ages 6-7 shot to death) and the families lawyers going after him have him claiming it's not just entertainment.

They don't care because they believe Sandy Hook was a "false flag" carried out by Obama in order to implement harsher gun laws and the parents are "crisis actors".

Infowars conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has lost his third lawsuit brought by a parent of a child who died in the Sandy Hook school shooting, one day after he lost two other Sandy Hook cases.

In a court filing unsealed Friday, Judge Maya Guerra Gamble issued her ruling for default judgment against Jones in the defamation case brought by father Neil Heslin, whose 6-year-old son Jesse was killed in the shooting that left 20 children and six adults dead.

A default judgment means Jones and Infowars will now be liable for all damages, and a jury will decide how much he will have to pay. On Thursday, Jones had lost two other Sandy Hook cases after Gamble issued default judgments.

A superior court in Connecticut granted a sweeping victory to the parents of eight people killed in a 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticuit, suing the far-right broadcaster and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his Infowars media outlet for defamation.

The judge ruled on Monday that because Mr. Jones refused to turn over documents ordered by the courts, including financial records, he was guilty by default. The ruling combines with three previous rulings in Texas to grant the families of 10 Sandy Hook shooting victims four victories in four defamation lawsuits against Mr. Jones.

InfoWars conspiracy theorist Alex Jones is facing a warrant for his arrest, after defying a court order Thursday ordering him to sit for a deposition.

After Jones skipped the first scheduled deposition on Wednesday, lawyers for the plaintiffs asked Connecticut Judge Barbara N. Bellis to issue a warrant for his arrest to force him to participate in the deposition.

In response, Bellis ordered Jones to appear Thursday at the deposition or face potential court action. Now that Jones has skipped that second deposition, the judge is expected to take action against him as soon as later on Thursday.

A Superior Court judge on Wednesday found conspiracy theorist and Infowars host Alex Jones in contempt of court and imposed a fine of up to $50,000 a day for what she called his "willful" violation of her orders that he submit to questioning at a deposition by families of victims of the Sandy Hook School killings.

After a series of delays, Jones failed to comply last week with repeated orders by Bellis that he appear for a deposition on March 23 and 24 in Austin, Texas where his Internet broadcasting company is located.

At the conclusion of a brief hearing in Waterbury, Bellis said Jones can have her contempt order purged if he sits for two days of deposition in Connecticut. If he fails to appear, she said she is ready to impose a variety of additional sanctions.

Going to be lame if she waives the fines he's incurred thus far. Jones should have to pay the 50K a day until he appears, then it stops once he sits for his deposition.

What would be the point? You cannot put the genie back in the bottle. The records he illegally tried to hide have been discovered, and would be admissable in a new trial. It gains them absolutely nothing. They are just incompetent. Jones had better hope they do not find evidence that he participated in a seiditious conspiracy, or more images of child pornography in these records, or he will have more than money troubles as the result of this. You can tell it was not planned by his reaction in court. He is sweating bullets, because he knows there is incrimminating evidence in those messages. He is simply not that good of an actor.

Robtard
I'm on the accident/incompetence side of this, but it's possible this was intentional and some fool's hope of demanding a mistrial, it's Alex Jones after all.

Sandy Hook victims' families asked a federal bankruptcy court on Thursday to order the Infowars conspiracy broadcaster Alex Jones to relinquish control over his company, saying he has "systematically transferred millions of dollars" to himself and his relatives while claiming to be broke.

In a filing in the bankruptcy court in Houston, the families of nine Sandy Hook victims said they sought to have a bankruptcy trustee who is already monitoring the case take control of Free Speech Systems, the parent company of Mr. Jones's misinformation-peddling media outlet.

The families are also seeking a court-appointed oversight committee to restrict Mr. Jones's ability to control Infowars's finances.

A Connecticut jury decided Wednesday, that far-right talk show host Alex Jones should pay eight families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims and one first responder $965 million in compensatory damages, capping a wrenching weeks-long trial that put on display the serious harm inflicted by the conspiracy theorist's lies.

Excellent.

Granted, Jones has been shifting his money to family and offshore accounts. But still.

Might be surprised to learn almost every Trumper and most Conservatives I speak with believe he had it coming, and then some.

Well he did fall out with Trump over Trump admitting he got jabbed for Covid and overall supporting Covid vaccines.

Omg, he actually live streamed the CT proceedings, asked fans for money and made fun of the families. What is wrong with him?

The reason Alex Jones is still able to crowd fund despite everything that came out during the trial, including him admittng Sandy Hook wasn't staged, is because of people who think like this:

The proof was Alex Jones' rants and lies.

His dumb ass still thinks his bankruptcy filing will mean that they will never collect. Once he realizes that is not the case, he will change his tune.

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his company were ordered Thursday to pay an extra $473 million to victims' families and an FBI agent for calling the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting a hoax, adding to a nearly $1 billion jury verdict issued last month. Connecticut Judge Barabara Bellis imposed the punitive damages on the Infowars host and Free Speech Systems. Jones repeatedly told his millions of followers t he massacre that killed 20 first graders and six educators was staged by "crisis actors" to enact more gun control.

Jones was temporarily blocked from transferring any assets or spending money other than for ordinary living expenses by the judge overseeing the Sandy Hook defamation trial in Connecticut. State court Judge Barbara Bellis issued the freezing order late Wednesday over concerns that he was "looting" his own estate and hiding assets through a series of shell companies owned by family members.

This should have happened long ago. He's been moving his assets for a long time now.

Can they go after his family members that are partaking in this clear move to avoid paying his victims?

The court-appointed oversight committee will likely find everything he is trying to hide.

I hope they find every penny he's hidden and he has to watch (and cry) as they stripe it from him to pay his victims.

He should be rotting in prison

Let him pay off his debt first. If he keeps working after he liquidizes his assets, the court can seize the majority of any income and give it to his victims.

The court should also seize any monetary and property he transferred ownership over to his family members since the lawsuit started. Shows a premeditated attempt to shirk his liabilities.

Alex Jones posting conspiracies with a corporate approved lexicon reeks of irony. Is he baiting his followers to create new companies of the same stories?

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA? What?

"The Connecticut democrats with The Onion newspaper bought us," wrote Alex Jones on Twitter.

Maybe they'll let him stay on and work in their corporate cafeteria. He could serve coffee and pastries and snacks. He could wear a cute paper hat.

Something something, Sandy Hook.

Heard earlier, it's awesome.

Now they can turn it into 'fun and harmless' fake news.

It's not like someone can't build a new company from the ground up to replicate Infowars, but it's nice to know that that's exactly what they'd have to do.

Robtard
For sure, I'm just sucking in the schadenfreude over Jones' crumbling life while I can.

Trump will probably give Jones a job in the White House.

Bashar Teg
No Vince McMahon taught him better than that. Alex Jones will be the token trophy/head that trump will gift to the left. Just to say "look at me, I'm not supporting Alex Jones". My prediction anyway
