Doom has been a bargain basement Luthor with a Man in the Iron Mask fetish since his inception. Luthor was the greatest scientific mind on earth since 1940.

A teenaged Luthor conquered time travel and held his own against the Legion. He had his own planet he led as a hero since the 60s. Claremont ripoff that idea with planet Doom.

Snyder is simply restoring his proper position.

But seeing ignorant Marvel fanboys whine about characters their faves are complete and utter ripoffs of is quite amusing.
