Can the portals that Strange and Wong make cut through anything like they did Cull Obsidian?

Could they cut Superman in half? Or Caps shield? I know thats a borderline no limit fallacy but just curious.

They can... Because they aren't actually cutting, but more like teleporting one side to another location

Makes sense

Yeah, durability becomes kind of irrelevant when your arm/leg etc. is simply in a different point of space than the rest of you and the connection between those points is severed, because it doesn't cut you in a conventional way. Some of your atoms are in one place. Some of them are in another. Break the connection before they get back together, and whoops, you need a hand. We see similar in DoFP and The Gifted with Blink cutting up things when her portals close on them.

So why didnt strange just cut Thanos head off instead of dropping mantis on him in the titan battle? Guess that was the 14 millionth and 1 scenario he didnt get to?

As the guy from the YouTube Pitch Meeting series likes to say... "Because."

Sad thing with overly hax characters. More often than not, they will need to suffer some level of PIS, at least initially, or there won't be any story. One of the best recent examples is Apocalypse from the X-Men movies. That guy should have wrecked their shit before Jean ever had a chance to go into Phoenix mode, but he apparently forgot about half of his powers for the final battle.

The other option is that Quill is such a cosmic asshat that he literally jumps in and ruins it, regardless of what plan they make, all 14,000,605 times, so that part of the Titan battle always goes the same. stick out tongue
