This article sheds light on my favorite world leader and why many hold him in high regard.
I will summarize for those too lazy:
Trump loves Abe, stating the US-Japan alliance as being "the closest in the whole world". (take that Israel!)
Shinzo Abe is a true liberal in the original sense of the word (not synonymous with leftist, idiots).
His Liberal Democratic Party has successfully campaigned on the promise of "taking Japan back" and reversing the pacifist constitution put in place after WWII; calling it a "disgraceful constitution".
They've successfully passed legislation allowing Japan to go to war without being attacked first, and Abe plans to further this agenda by eliminating article 9 of the constitution prohibiting Japan from having a standing military separate from that of the self-defense forces .
One of my favorite reasons why I admire the man is that he is proud of his country's history and isn't afraid to embrace it. They visit the war shrines and commemorate the sacrifices made by the Japanese soldiers, Tojo and all included.
