Neat!

The plot is they all lacked the upper body strength and power to weight ratio and thus all fall to their deaths, the end.
But nah. All female movie worked for The Descent and Annihilation.
No reason this can't.
Flyattractor
Make sure all the babes got nice big bouncy boobs and this could be watchable.
BruceSkywalker
what ladies have been cast
ShadowFyre
Hopefully some nice ass shots of them climbing.

Yeah but those were some original movies and good movies, why do they need to remake movies with a female lead? Loved the original cliffhanger

Yeah me too. John Lithgow made a surprisingly menacing bad guy.
Kazenji
Haven't got a problem with it, As long as they don't push the girl power angle.

I'm picturing the beginning, where the woman falls and dies, being replaced where it's a woman trying to save a male rock climber, but he's super arrogant and creepily hitting on her.
And as he falls to his death the last thing we hear him scream is "you should smile more".

Wait I just noticed the "Jason Mamoa in talks to cameo"...LOL! He's totally gonna die at the beginning isn't he?

If it’s as you say I love it

Yes, but that line actually comes from "controversy" from people telling Brie Larson to smile more lol. Apparently the butthurt was so strong they put it in the movie.

How do you know the asses will be nice?! This is sexist, you can't prove Melissa McCarthy isn't up for a starring role!

To be fair, she does seem to have a sour expression a lot of the time...

So that wasn't a movie scene. That was a thing that actually happened, that they decided to put in the movie.
Flyattractor
Yep. Hollywood is full of Horrible People

Steve, you're a good few months older than me.
Don't tell me you're having trouble with THIS.
Anyway, try different browsers (or settings) or/and different adblock plugins (assuming you're using any).

I don't have high hopes, but maybe it will be a pleasant surprise.

The movie certainly can work if there are unique or intriguing elements that keep it from feeling contrived. Otherwise it may end up feeling like the original Cliffhanger's little sister. This was my impression of the female Ghostbuster remake. It was a fun movie, but it simply did not have the impact of the original, in part because (IMHO) it came across as a 'let's just do a girl's version; that's all the reason we need'.
This was why Descent was a great flick. Other than being well done overall, it wasn't someone else's picture first.
(BTW, when are they gonna do a male version of 'A Star is Born'?)
