Also, within America, there are different levels of cost and effectiveness on infrastructure projects.

They did a study to compere Oklahoma with a "business gets done" city. It may have been Chicago. Apparently, Oklahoma sucks super super badly to get infrastructure built compared to that one city. I don't know which city and I wish I could find the new segment. But the difference was something like 10x. They ran their city like a business, best bid cost, best quality, and best time.

When the government is run like a business for infrastructure projects, you get competition. If the government was required to have solidified contracts with objective RFP measures to support their selections, that would revolutionize this.

The British Government came up with ITIL. It's a good idea. Let's make the US also implement service agreements with SLAs. smile

Much easier to just dissolve the unions and impeach democrats.

All the streets around here are in shit shape.

Flyattractor
You live in a Illinois and that is a VERY Blue State.

My streets are pristine, with fresh painted markings and a good bounce to the tar, w. just the right amount of tire grip.

New York City is pretty bad at this. I don't know how they decide construction projects, but I'd imagine contractors in competition has nothing to do with it.

Have to disagree with Prager U. The environmentalists in European countries are just as passionate if not more than the ones in the States. I remember reading in the news how the construction of the new international airport in Istanbul was delayed significantly simply because of unjustified environmental concerns (and we all know Turkey isn't exactly a pristine country when it comes to environmentalism)

Also there are retarded laws in the states that require materials used in the construction of public projects to be made in the USA only; so steel automatically becomes ridiculously expensive for example.

Of course Prager U won't mention those factors.

They also don't mention the mob controlled construction companies, backed by mob controlled unions, driving away competition and driving up prices.

Which is funny what with communists and their Love of Der WOIKIN MAN!

Lord Lucien
Ironically once the working men of Russia became Communist men, the entire country went down the drain due to the increase of lazy people on welfare and an infrastructure that couldn't be maintained because everybody was on WELFARE.

Flyattractor
Gotta Love that Socialism...

Lord Lucien
It's literally the second word of the Nazi party's full name. These retarded communists are fascists.
