Sodam defeated the same Nero easily.

To be fair, Sodam only beat Nero by manipulating the latent Ion power within him, and using it to burn him out. Still a cool feat, but Sodam didn't beat Nero by straight up overpowering him like Kyle did.

I was honstely totally underwhelmed by Sodam as Ion.

Geoff Johns doesn't do space cheese, just look at Dr Manhattan. But Ion was given his due lip service, you'd think Ion was herald level by the way he is treated on forums.

Ion put up a better fight against Prime than armies of heroes.

And Prime only beat him as decisively as he did because of weakness exploitation... Sodam was literally poisoning to death while fighting a Pre-Crisis Kryptonian h2h.

Never quite understood the logic that Yat was a shit Lantern/Ion, just because he lost to Prime of all people. Almost every single noteworthy hero(and villain) has also lost to Prime... And much easier than Yat did. This is a guy who even the ring intelligence itself fears, ffs:

...And also bear in mind that Yat was just a rookie GL when he obtained the Ion power, so he didn't even remotely have a handle on how to use all that power efficiently(which explains why threw fisticuffs with Prime for 99.9% of the fight instead of using his actual GL power) -- and he was also poisoned by lead very early in the fight, which further hindered him. It's like a kid with one leg who is just trying out Pop Warner football, all of the sudden being thrust into the NFL on their first game.


That being said, I *do* think Sodam was grossly underutilized as Ion later on(it should've just been a temp amp that he lost after SCW, imo), but that's neither here nor there.

I wasn't reffering to his Prime fight more to his overall shit in the Lantern book when he was travelling through space with several other Lanterns.

Prime would molest all P5 members.

On those situations, he was compromised by Scar to not have the full Ion power.

Sadly we will never see Yat's full potential

Yat should honestly stomp him. One guy was getting hurt by Iron Fist and the other was throwing down with Superbly Prime.....

Besides the performance against Prime -- which many can't look past comparatively, as it's a loss -- he was also a noob with the kryptonian powerset, too -- but we see him going at it toe to toe with Prime and even taking his HV

Yep.

I mean, literally right before Prime fought Yat, his HV went through Superman like a hot knife through butter... And Prime was immensely depleted at the time.

So Yat soaking it like that is actually very impressive.
