Sounds like if you're not a paraplegic or in a coma, and have a significant other in the work force, you won't qualify.

The original article is from 2015 and it also says:

"There was widespread acceptance among campaigners that the data presented should be treated with caution. Tom Pollard, policy and campaigns manager at mental health charity Mind, said it was hard to comment on the statistics as they only revealed the number of people who have died while on ESA, not the circumstances or details of the deaths."

This is a valid point. It has been 4 years, so what do we now know? Do we KNOW these people died because they were denied welfare? Were they denied medical treatment?

This is awful, however, it says he only has months to live. I'm not saying this is a reason to deny him, I point this out merely because his death won't be because he was told to get a job. Not unless he is forced to live on the streets because he has no money and dies from exposure or something, then the denial will have killed him.

"Well, he has a few months to live, but he's able to work a job until he deteriorates. And he has someone providing a roof over his head. DENIED!"

I wonder if they make bad choices like this because of budgets of they are bad people......because we know socialism doesn't leave behind the weak and poor due to budgets....f-k-n money choices.

I know a guy who died because they stopped his money, he apparently had something like 1 tin of chicken soup in the cupboard when they found him. They used to applaud themselves releasing stats that showed unemployment was going down but they soon stopped that when it emerged that they were getting the figures from the fact that some people were no longer on benefits because they had been sanctioned and had their money stopped, not because they had found work.

Because of the nature of freelance work, I sometimes find myself unemployed for a week here or a fortnight there, I get a decent rate of pay so it's not a problem TBH, but I haven't bothered trying to claim benefits for those periods for around 3 years now, just the sheer runaround they give you isn't worth it. By the time my first payment arrives I've actually been back working for up to a month, so the money's no longer needed and I spent the two weeks break I had being given the runaround by DWP instead of enjoying the time away.
