I think if they came up with a good tactic, then team would have a chance.

My memories of that awful novel are hazy, but didn't Scourge's visions imply that there was a 50:50 chance the team could win? If that's the case replacing him with Traya gives the team a shot (assuming this is novel Vitiate and not Valkorion).
