No one is to blame for how well the US has handled COVID-19.
We've tested the most, by far. No one comes close.
When models state we have anywhere from 2%-55% of the population having alaready been infected/exposed to SARS-CoV-2 (and that was 2 weeks ago), and we have fewer than .4% of the population being tested (with a significant majority of those tested being sick people presenting with COVID-19-like symptoms), yeah the US is doing great.
COVID-19 is far less deadly than WHO and CDC told us. Far far less deadly. We are not even close to figuring out how not deadly it is due to needing the anitbody tests.
Thankfully, the US is a resource and execution monster when we get our shit together. We are doing a great job collecting data and making the logistics of COVID-19 management go well. It's complicated and there are problems, but the US is handling it well.
