So I am closing on my ranch today and its going to free up a bunch of money.

I have a 2013 Prius 4 with the solar sun roof and technology package and a 2018 Chevy Volt Premium with 20k miles.

I am sticking with an electric or hybrid performance.

So my choices are

BMW i8
Tesla 100D
Telsa Truck (1-2 year wait)
Corvette 2021 Hybrid
Acura NSX Hybrid

What do you guys think/recommend?

Robtard
i8 - Is a lovely lookiing car, but it's over 160K and that's a whole lot for limited purpose car

Tesla 100D - I really like this and it's been out for years with a fairly proven tack record and Tesla still warranties them 100% iirc

Telsa Truck - Even if it was out now, I'd wait, let other people find the faults and have Tesla fix them before buying

Corvette - This just screams "I'm having a mid-life crisis and my dick barely works". Though the new mid-engine vet is the best looking vet in a very long time. Also Price-per-performance here is outstanding

Acura NSX Hybrid - Similar to the i8. Too pricey for a limited toy.

I would not buy the i8 or NSX new, the only ones I would buy new are the tesla and corvette.

The mid engine corvette has a hybrid available and thats actually their top of the line in that line up.

I have never liked vettes at all but this new redesign is something to seriously take a look at.

BrolyBlack
Also, this is going to be my every day driver.

Robtard
You don't want a Corvette as an everyday car, even if it's one of the most comfortable of the super-cars, while being the cheapest of the super-cars.

BrolyBlack
Ok so then its going to be the i8 or a tesla then or nsx.

I could possible buy a Supra as well, I mean its not a hybrid but whatever.

I could keep my Prius if I had to I guess, the goal was to get away from having two cars.

Robtard
The only everyday car out of all of those is the Tesla 100D, cos it's a normal car. The rest are high performance sports cars. That's going to wear on you in daily basis, these cars also also very expensive to fix, so you're going to want to keep the miles down for as long as possible.

Keep the Prius or Volt to use 3-4 days a week. Use the sportsscar on weekends and 1-2 days a week.

What's crazy, the Tesla 100D is crazy fast, while being an everyday multi-function car.

BrolyBlack
You can drive the i8 in all electric mode for 17-20 miles though at a reasonable speed. I drove my friends yesterday and he drives it daily and loves it.

The P100D is in serious consideration though and I might get it. I could go down to one car. But I’ve been wanting a coupe for a while.

The only coupe I’ve ever owned was a Toyota 86 and got rid of it cause it was underpowered.

I haven’t voted yet. I close on 30th so I’m trying to narrow this down by then.

Congrats on the sale and the celebratory car. You've earned it. Hard work does pay off!
