106 House Republicans Support Trump-Backed Lawsuit To Overturn Election

A group of 106 Republican House members, more than half of the GOP caucus in the chamber, signed an amicus brief filed Thursday in support of a lawsuit backed by President Trump that seeks to overturn the election.

The brief is led by Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.), who, in an email obtained by Forbes, told his colleagues Trump personally asked him to recruit supporters for the lawsuit, which aims to invalidate electors in four states Joe Biden won: Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Georgia. -snip

They've become the party/people who can't accept the results of an election unless it goes their way.

Robtard is a retard.

Over 250 representatives and senators supported the fake Russia investigation to overturn the election.

I think they set the precedent 4 years ago

Robtard
When did the Democrats file a lawsuit to have Trump's 2016 win overturned by the SC? Trump was President Elect the night of the election.

BrolyBlack
They demanded a investigation into something they knew Hilary Clinton cooked up.

Seems your memory is failing from you soft boiled brain

So did the Republicans and it was Republicans lead investigation, dumdum.

You're also still making a faulty comparison as that wasn't trying to have the SC block Trump's 2016 win. Keep grasping.

BrolyBlack
Because they were in charge, and the media and democrats wouldnt shut up and demanded it. Al Green submitted articles of impeachment the day after Trump was sworn in, nobody here believes your lies any more you coward

Robtard
Al Green was largely a one-man-crusade with that one, dumdum. Even Pelosi chastised him for his rantings.

Would you like to try again with something that isn't a faulty comparison?

Adam_PoE
Trump refused to divest from his businesses before becoming president, breaking the emoluments clause of the constitution, which is grounds for impeachment.

Right now, the "state's rights" Republicans are trying to nullifies votes in other states in federal court. So much craven hypocrisy.

Adam_PoE
Moreover, you are pointing at the impeachment as something that was wrong, correct? So why are you then using it to justify what Republicans are doing here? That undermines their cause. It is an acknowledgement that what they are doing is wrong, but that we should not care about it, because some other people did something wrong in a separate and totally unrelated situation. That is like saying it should be okay for you to cheat on your taxes, because your neighbor cheats on his wife. It is ****ing stupid.

Robtard
Trump was impeached because he broke the law and 2020 wasn't the first time a President has been impeached, it's happened before in our lifetimes.

Broly is just grasping at straws again because he can't accept the results of the 2020 election.

Again, nobody believes your lies anymore. After you ranted for 4 years about fake Russian conspiracies, and never cast blame on Hilary for ginning it up, you have no room to talk. You posted for 4 years, 50-60 times a day about some bullshit that never happened.

And your "Im not devisive" rhetoric doesn't past the test with these stupid threads

Robtard
You might call this "stupid", but this is happening, a large amount of Republicans are trying to get the Supreme Court to overturn the results of a legal presidential election because they didn't like the results.

Granted it likely won't go anywhere, but it is being attempted.

Read the story.

That's a nice way to put what they're attempting.

You're confused if you think Trump would have accepted anything other than him winning.

You must really be confused with your own behavior over the past 4 years, you never accepted Trump won and insisted without evidence that he cheated to win.

Now you are mad the other side doing it?

How convenient

I'm sorry, but after all of the massive amount of cheating that went on in this BS election I'm having a hard time feeling bad about this. In fact, I feel quite good about it.

And don't b*tch to me about "precedent set", Robbie, considering all the BS precedents democrats have set over the years and the ones that they planned on setting when Biden/Harris got in (doing away with electoral college, packing the SC, making DC a state, etc...).

eThneoLgrRnae

You know what else breaks the spirit of the election? Widespread cheating. wink

And also corrupt judges throwing out cases of voter fraud without even bothering to consider the evidence.

What is the point of rules and laws if no one follows them or if no one ever suffers any consequences for breaking them?

eThneoLgrRnae
A precedent was set when those in media abandoned their journalistic integrity and became anti-Trump activists. A precedent was set when democrats impeached Trump over literally nothing.

A precedent was set when republican poll watchers in several battleground states were not allowed to watch the vote counting in progress. A precedent was set when universal mail-in voting was implemented even though many republicans warned that it would lead to disaster and make the election much more vulnerable to fraud.

So yeah, don't b*tch to me about "precedent set", Robbie.

eThneoLgrRnae
Precedent was set when Mad Maxine Waters told her supporters to go out and harass members of Trump's cabinet in public.

Precedent was set when crazy Nancy Pelosi acted like an immature like brat by tearing up Trump's speech during the State of the Union address.

I could go on, and on, and on, and on.

They are afraid to take the case because they don't want doxing, threats and the general ill will for what would happen to them and their family, they are people first.

One of the largest US Militias have said they will resist Biden's presidency. That's...full blown Civil War. And they won't last long against Biden's military.

This is not good. They need to calm down. There's almost no difference between Biden and Trump from an effective policy perspective. Even Biden said nothing much will change. So what? Frankly, I couldn't give a shit if it leads to a bloody civil war.. Some things ae worth dying for, and some things are worth killing for.

Fact is, this is an injustice to have an illegitimate "president-elect" sworn in as president. People should be revolting against this BS especially when the courts just continue to dismiss all of the cases without even bothering to look at the evidence.

Our founding fathers would turn over in their graves if we just stood idly by while our country turned into a banana republic. F*** that.

If the lying media had actually bothered to do their god**** jobs by reporting on all of the disgusting stuff found in the Hunter Biden laptop there would've been so much outrage that Biden probably wouldn't have even been allowed to run. It's obvious to anyone who doesnt have blinders on to the world (iow, eveyone who isn't a moronic leftist) that Joe Biden is owned by the Chinese.

Besides all of the massive amount of cheating that went on, foreign countries and our own damn media (who are also clearly owned by the chinese) interfered in our election to help Biden "win".

For four years snowflake leftists b*tched about "muh russia colluding with da Trump her derp!" even though there was literally zero evidence of it happening. There is actual evidence of foreign countries and the media colluding with Biden to "win" in this past election and there is nothing but crickets chirping coming from those same snowflakes.

My family and I have decided not to vote in the January runoff. If the fraud is this massive, we let them win if we participate like everything is normal. We have been talking about picketing the polls to stay engaged in the democratic process, but going in and voting like nothing happened in November would be a cowardly submission I think.

Screaming that there is election fraud hasn't resulted in any evidence whatsoever, no matter how many times the Trump camp and their allies do it. They are just trying to create the perception of fraud, and to huckster capitalists like Trump, Perception Is Reality. That's how he has built his image over the decades. But the courts don't deal in perception, only facts.

And can the Trumpists remember what Chris Christie pointed out a month ago - the Trump camp may yell fraud in press conferences, but that's not what they are saying inside the courtroom, where lying to judges has serious consequences. Instead of evidence, they are coming in with half baked theories and rambling witnesses with inconsistent testimonies full of hearsay. Which is why ever court has dismissed every lawsuit and chided the Trump lawyers for wasting their time.

Every theory has been shot down and discredited by reasonable people. But this is the consequence of electing a man who acts like an internet troll crossed with a mob boss as President, who wants state governors to overturn election results because 'he asks them to' - because, 'they owe him.' It's nightmarish to think anyone would do that in a democracy. But finally, Trump's BS has finally stopped working.thumbsup

Most of them probably know this is dumb but as long as they get two orange thumbs up they know they'll be safe from the political backlash.

That and their banking on the fact they know it's not going to go anywhere.

I think part of it is the fact that a record number of Americans voted for a Republican almost all at the polls.

Shitting on Trump is likely bad, short term, for their career.

Trump saved the republican party (and America, itself) at least temporarily. He didn't destroy it lol. But the Trump-haters gonna hate on him regardless because they're still to this day butthurt over 2016 election.

Biden's fake "win" doesn't really take away the pain they've suffered for the last four years.

More than 60% of House Republicans support pro-Trump lawsuit overturning election results

More House Republicans on Friday joined the long list of congressional lawmakers supporting a longshot lawsuit asking the Supreme Court to invalidate election decisions in several key states in hopes of overturning Joe Biden's win over President Donald Trump. -snip

Joke is on them. Pelosi is the House majority leader, and she does not have to seat their dumb asses.

Whatever is in that link will not disprove what I just said, Robbie.

Robtard
It says Trump's tariffs and trade policies hurt America and Americans more than they helped and the Brookings.edu site has been sourced as reliable by you people.

eg "And even those jobs that have been created have come at great cost: studies suggest American consumers paid about $817,000 in higher prices attributable to the tariffs for every job created in the washing machine industry and $900,000 in the steel industry." -snip

Trump is going to Florida before Inauguration Day. Everyone should chill.

He keeps saying "see you January 6th". Any violence that day he'll be guilty of fomenting. That could be the charge that gets him jailed when this is over.

By contrast, you didn't like it when the left did it, so why are you ok with the right doing it? Seems to be that modern politics consists of nothing but hypocrisy.

To be Honest. I never LIKED it when The Left Cried Like little Beetichs when "WE" Stepped up and Curbed Stomped the Lefty A-Holes when They did it.

How do you, being on the right and buying into the "raw raw, go merica, pro life, go democracy, screw socialism, etc." Not straight up have your head explode scanners style from the hypocrisy of your current stances? Especially with all the dictator shit Trump is trying to do and all the harm he has caused to this country? How do you justify it? Seems like the most epic case of extreme butt hurt ever over Trump's loss. Honestly I'm not sure whose ass is more sore: Trump or his cult of sycophants.

Cuz guess what? Trump lost. Fair and square. Get over it. The facts don't care about your feelings.

- Funny how pro life people want a bloody civil war.
- Funny how pro life people don't care about a deadly pandemic.
- Funny how people on the right disregard Trump lying about the pandemic, which is a matter of public record.
- Funny how people on the right hate socialism so much (mostly because it's a buzzword, they don't know what it even is they are just told to hate it in all forms so they do) but are all to happy too accept handouts like stimulus checks. Did you decline yours, or was free money like that ok as long as you got it?
- Funny how the right has totally abandoned democracy simply because they don't like the result.
- Funny how the right is throwing around fascism given what Trump is trying to do.
- etc, etc.

I don't much like a lot of what the left does either, by the way. HOWEVER. The right are letting people die. The right has an utter lack of compassion. The right supports a wannabe dictator and all around shit human being who deserves jail time. The right wants to throw out democracy in order to install said shit human being as a dictator. The right has crazy shits like you that support civil freaking war because their feelings are hurt over losing a fair election.

Yeah, f*** the right.

Yeah, no kidding lol. For four god**** years leftists whined that Trump was a dictator, even the next Hitler lmao.

Funny how the media was allowed to constantly lie about him with no repercussions whatsoever. You'd think that if he truly were some evil dictator that he would've had them shut up somehow.

I just laugh and ignore them when they call Trump a dictator. They're just talking out of their own asses.
