How goes this?

Philosophía
Hm.

leonidas
classic cn was roughly on par with thor. morg would beat him.

zopzop
One sided stomp in Morg's favor.

Not seeing Count Nefaria doing too well against the Heralds that Morg did well against.

yes sad

It's weird how little respect Nefaria gets.

Its because he is a white European.

He's a jacked white boy and everybody should deal with it.

Classic CN would be regular Morg but not WL Morg.

leonidas
as a kid, the count was one of my fave characters--one of the characters who actually cemented my love of comics. i recall being so disappointed by the cover of that book though where thor's hammer is bouncing off him. when thor appeared at the end of the issue though, it was the greatest cliffhanger ending i'd read to that point! lol soooo good. "you have dared much, villain..."

the count was awesome.

Philosophía
He was so good, they had that same look twice with Graviton.

That's the thing, I don't think he'd beat "regular" Morg either. Morg is/was much more bloodthirsty than the heroes Nefaria fought and Morg is a legit high herald.

Morg, no WoL, wins the majority after a good fight.
Morg with WoL stomps.

I think you are selling PC Morg short Leo. Morg' beaten Terrax every time they fought (like you already mentioned). Speaking of Terrax, look how Ganymede manhandled him but PC Morg treated her like an insect (even when she had help). He took out Air-Walker AND Firelord simultaneously. He's beaten Silver Surfer. He's done better vs Thanos than Surfer ever has.

In his second fight with Surfer, the one Morg lost, you have to remember he just got through fighting Firelord AND Air-Walker. So the fact that he went through those two, then immediately fought Surfer and lost after a good fight is a damn good showing for PC Morg. Tbf Morg only did better against because Thanos underestimated him. Once he took it serious he one shotted him. Thanos has never one shotted surfer like that.

He had a close fight with Terrax and they're generally rivals

Now, I don't know how you see Terrax compared to Thor , but Count Nefaria was repeatedly hammered and shown as somebody considerably physically superior to him . I wouldn't be surprised to see Count Nefaria fold him like paper.

i think thor would beat morg as well and i agree cn was stronger than thor. would he beat thor in a full on battle though? still not sure about that, but maybe. in that initial appearance, cn was hardly a warrior and maybe that's what was holding him back. he made another really impressive appearance in the later avengers, but for some reason i think he was different. it was a long arc though and i can't recall the details. if you say he'd beat thor in a one-on-one battle, i certainly wouldn't argue strongly against it. i don't think cn could take the destroyer though but it would be awesome to see it.

cn was a great team wrecking villain. i feel like that type of villain has been lost a little over the years. now someone has to be able to break universes to be a threat. cn was a supercool villain that took great teamwork to take down but who wasn't overpowered. he reminds me of classic thanos a little--the one who battled thing and thor back when he was cool--powerful, but not what he became before marvel utterly f'd up the character.

Philosophía
"But did he destroy a planet, leo!???!"

thumb up

It was a fun battle since he was just getting to know his powers. That usually happens to heroes. "Oh I can take this? Oh, I'm this strong? I shouldn't be afraid!"

I like this simpler, but very powerful type of villains. It's why Black Adam works that well, too.

leonidas
"no, it was clearly a shared feat and how bog was that planet anyway?!" lol

and agreed about adam. adam v nefaria would be a great battle. there just aren't many solid team wreckers left it seems. i put classic despero in that category as well. mags filled the role well for the xmen once upon a time. classic adamantium ultron was another of my faves. there are some great stories still being told, no doubt, but i still enjoy the simpler stories with the uncomplicated villains. nostalgia ftw. thumb up

Philosophía
It's all 'teams vs teams splash pages' or 'teams vs big bad & fodder' lately.

I just want some of the regular old people to start beating the shit out of each other again.

leonidas
lol exactly. thumb up thumb up
