I don't remember XO being particularly powerful. Struggled against that sorcerer who's neck he cut in his sleep, for one.

Plus Terrax has way better feats, like cracking open a moon against Thanos.

Terrax destroys him. Aric is outclassed in strength and his usual tactic of facing his enemies up close doesn't favor him when his opponents weapon can definitely cut through his armor.

Huh. Overestimated x-o. Thought he was more powerful. Was there a more powerful version?
