So last year I grew a larger garden than previously and shared with neighbors, this year, I have an even larger garden with more variety. Any covid hobbies pop up?

Got back into fitness. Dropped about 60lbs so far. Packed on a bit of muscle too. Walking and hiking loads. Done about 650 miles so far this year. Hoping to do the Cape Wrath trail next summer. Did my first ever marathon distance a few weeks ago. Done another chunk of charity fundraising.

Bam ripping man, switched to kb and loaded hikes. That's freaking fantastic and grats on our gains bro. You had an amazing transformation man!

I do want to get into spartan games for fun or comp kb. Did you switch your diet much?

Sorry wasn't trying to steal thunder.

My son has a guitar but it's like one size down from regular size and it's super hard to get my fingers on the neck.

Thanks man 👍
Pretty much cut out refined sugars completely which has reversed my slow slide towards type-2 diabetes. This has meant much better sleeping routines which has helped recovery. Most of my bad habits were late night eating which stopped when I changed jobs 18 months ago anyway. I'm currently not obsessing over calorie counting or hitting macros like I did before because I'm getting results without doing so. Once I hit the wall where I can't build muscle and lose fat simultaneously like I currently can due to my detrained state then I'll have to decide which avenue to take and adjust my diet then depending on where I want to go so I will have to start paying more attention to the details then.

My sweet tooth cravings I fix by taking a chocolate micellar caesin shake twice a day. 1 at work and 1 before bed. Whey shake after gym every 2nd day

Current routine is roughly below

Odd days: Full body weights session with 2 exercises per muscle group (shoulders, chest, upper back, lower back, obliques, abs, biceps, tris then 4 legs exercises. Quads, hamstrings, calves, then I rotate between hack squats, deadlift or leg press. I rotate sets between slow, full range of motion and maximum time under tension to explosive movements in order to hit both strength a mass goals.

Even days: walk 6 - 7 miles. Sometimes more Sometimes less. Depends on the weather and other stuff I have on.

I do this for about 3 to 4 weeks before it takes enough of a toll that I have to take 4 or 5 rest days (at 42 years old I don't recover as quickly as I used to and find the break really helps to cement my strength gains. I usually up the weights after each of these long recovery breaks)

As an aside, I've also bought no 2 and no 3.5 captains of crush grippers for grip training but noticed they give me problems with tendinitis in my elbow joints so only doing them a couple of times a week.

Current supplementation

Pre workout and at my work 4 x 200mg caffeine (I have ridiculous tolerance)
2 x Green tea capsules.

Other daily. 5g creatine monohydrate, omega 3 oil, multivitamin.

I'll post an update with pics at the end of the year.

it was posted during the first lockdown, so I guess this is technically different, more of a "looking back" perspective (it's still kinda whorish of you though) smile

I did a whatvdid you do during lockdown one somewhere too. smile

That said who gives a flying ****. Props to Jaden. I remember years ago you were a beast.

I got used to being a dad of Little kids again mostly. I know this going to sound bad we have an "auntie" (Nanny) living in. I'm too old now to get up in the night except when my aging prostate dictates. Oh, yesterday I benched 140 Kg for 8 reps without a spotter. So there is that.

I'll give a bit but I know I'm anal and my structure won't fit most ppl, what did you do Jaden for your fitness?

I wanted to but it was so so hard with the small neck and chords require alot of dexterity, I'll stick to the piano lol.

Yeah it's hard with kids as you get older mine is 14 now but we workout together so alot of steam is blown off that way.....grats on that bench though it's very good.

Impediment
Watching increasingly shameful porn videos on the internet.

-Pr-
IT certifications. Four since February last year.

Newjak
I kept my original hobbies because I was still working so nothing really changed for me

Robtard
Binged a lot of TV shows after work when the lock downs started, as we really couldn't visit friends, family or go out in general.

Scribble
uhhhhh I recorded like a full album (18 tracks) + like 6 other unrelated songs, wrote probably about 100,000 words of prose and verse, came out as trans + started transitioning, uhhhhh ****ing completed Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3 + Bloodborne (got the PS4 Platinum trophy for DS1 & BB), read probably like 40 books, idk watched probably 20-30 films, yeah probably more but that's all I remember rn

Nothing wrong with having a nanny if you need it. It's not rare here in my area, even with stay-at-home moms, they'll still have a nanny so they can go to their pilates class and then hang with their yoga pants friends. I love yoga pants.

Good job on benching, old man stick out tongue I still limit myself to 225lbs benching, shoulders, wrist and elbows complain if I do more. Well, complain more.
