Take human life. "All life is equally valuable" is considered a naive statement. You kill for a lot of reasons, most agree on that. The reasons are up for debate, but we mostly agree sometimes another man has to die.
Or take universalism in general. Your needs are as important as my needs, or my kids needs, is an asinine statement. If push comes to shove, it's essentially expected you prioritize the needs of your blood over that of anyone else.
So why do we teach these universal moral principles to kids, while expecting them to grow out of it? What for?
