God doesn't give a shit about how we classify animals.

He classifies them in His own way which is also why whales are considered fish according to biblical classification and yes, why bats are considered birds.

They fly and they have wings and they're not bugs so yeah, guess God chooses to classify them as birds.

Plants are also not considered to be alive in the biblical sense despite the fact we think of them as being alive.
