So this is one of the best movies I've ever seen. 10/10 from me.

And it's about some pivotal ancient history that isn't very well known.

Apparently it's relatively true to history according to most of what survived from the time.

And if you see the movie you'll see why much hasn't survived.

If you like Gladiator and other historical-based stuff like that, I highly recommend.

My god, incredible film. Rachel Weisz and Oscar Isaac. Check it out.

I just realized that this made a miniscule amount at the domestic box office. haha...

I'm pretty sure it greatly offended the Judeo-Christian majority by covering actual Christian history.

A measly $619,423.

Of course I have no idea how well it was marketed and such, but still, that's crazy low. So bad in fact, that I suspect that has something to do with why it was so hard to find a US version of the Blu-ray. I had to order a region-free German copy on eBay. Anyway, I got the DVD, too, so I could see the special features. There's a cool hour-long 'making of' documentary that's largely in Spanish with subtitles.

Here's a great little YouTuber video on the history (of course don't watch this before you see the movie)...
