He seemed impressive because he only ever fought normal humans. Blade was overpowering superhumanly strong vampires on a daily basis, and only struggled with the upper echelon of them, mainly being La Magra Frost(An Elder Vampire fused with the soul of a Blood God), Nomak(A genetically modified vampire that was the apex of his new subspecies), and Drake(Literally Dracula, the original and most powerful vampire of all time)

He didn't struggle against them. He took on the girl and the guy multiple times, coming out on top each time. He wasn't even fighting seriously for most of it and had his sword sheathed for most of the fight.
