Can they (esp Starlord & Drax) stand up against this giant worm before it's too late?

Probably not. I dont think they have the firepower to put it down.

Why does that matter? The Hadron Enforcer was never seen again after GotG 1 so they clearly don't have it or they would be using it all the time, like against the giant monster that swallowed Drax in GotG 2. And Quill lost his Celestial powers when they killed Ego. So neither of those are viable tactics.
