Watched "All the Presidents Men" last night (Great movie), and was inspired to dig into the Watergate era and Nixon's worst crimes. One thing I kept coming across was how he bombed Cambodia. as part of an anti-Vietnam effort. It was called "Operation Menu", and it was supposed to be kept secret from the media.
Except, the New York Times DID report on it. Everyone else did not, including the Washington Post.
This means they knew and CHOSE to ignore this illegal bombing. Because the government told them to pretend not to know anything.
I gained respect for the NYT if nothing else, but the silence from everyone else..? Not good. The bombing was far more important then Watergate imo.
