Many parents simply don't want their kids exposed to sexual content, such as graphic depictions of intercourse as seen in some of these "educational materials".

If it's so graphic a legislator stopped a parent from reading it, it is certainly too graphic for a kid to read imo.

It's a long leap from disliking educational content for being too graphic to accusing people of being groomers (along with the clear implication of what that term means). And even if that's how it started, it's clearly being co-opted by many people who simply hate the queer community and are looking for an excuse to demonize them.

Queer people who have nothing to do with the content of educational material are being targeted and harassed and accused of all kinds of vile shit because of this buzzword the queerphobes have rediscovered. In that case I don't really have an issue, depending on the age of the kids I guess. The parents should have the choice to pull the kids from the class if they don't want their children exposed to that stuff, but I remember sex ed at my high school was fairly "graphic". It showed erect penises and we learned about various sex acts that high school kids are likely to encounter (oral sex, even a bit about anal sex).

If you think this is inappropriate then that's one thing, but as truejedi said earlier in the thread, why call them groomers? It's simply misusing a word, and is exagerating, pretty stupidly, the intent here. Unless you think the teachers are interested in sexually molesting these children after teaching them these things, then it's simply not grooming. It's teaching something that may be controversial for a lot of people, but that is not the same as grooming.

You hear the term all the time now, and it's really dumb. You hear it when those drag story times are being discussed, you hear it in these cases books in schools, and so on. None of this is grooming. It's just stuff that some people object to, and making it seem much more nefarious than it really is by implying the people doing it are predators, which they are not.

Fuentes addressed the allegations on his show last night, saying they are "gross," and that Alexander needs to provide an explanation, but insisted that as a political figure, he sometimes has to work with unsavory people. He then compared himself to Jesus.

The first victim was abused as a Catholic school student in Toledo, while Zacharias was in seminary school. Zacharias paid the victim so Zacharias could perform oral sex on him, including once when the victim was paid $1,500 for allowing Zacharias to perform oral sex on him at the rectory of a parish. The abuse continued through adulthood, and through Zacharias moving to Van Wert, Fremont, and Findlay.

Zacharias made numerous videos of the victim: some depicting sex acts, and others called "confession videos," where Zacharias, dressed in his priest attire, confessed to grooming and performing oral sex on the victim. Those videos have been viewed by FBI agents, according to the complaint.

A second victim named in the complaint also told the FBI that he had met Zacharias while a grade school student at a Catholic school in Toledo, with the abuse beginning during the victim's ninth-grade year.

King was arrested on Monday and booked into the Fayette County Detention Center. He was charged with procuring or promoting use of minor by electronic means, first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy, and first-degree sexual abuse.

The lawsuit said the Archdiocese has "known of the sexual abuse perpetrated upon its young parishioners and children in the community" by employees, priests, reverends, nuns, teachers, and other staff members. Reverend Kenneth Flowers, 63, pastor of Detroit's Greater New Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, was arraigned last week on charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and assault with the intent to commit sexual penetration.

An Orange County church minister was sentenced to over 120 years in prison for molesting young girls. Todd Christian Hartman, 41, of Newport Beach was convicted of molesting several young minors and possessing hundreds of explicit images of children.

Hartman had repeatedly molested a girl beginning when she was 6 years old, officials said. He met the girl while working at the Anaheim Vineyard Church children's ministry.

He was also convicted of molesting the girl's younger sister while taking sexually suggestive photographs as she was on his lap. Hartman was sentenced to 120 years to life plus an additional four years and four months in prison.

Hartman was also convicted on two felony counts of oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child aged 10 or younger and one felony count of possession of child pornography.

The man previously worked for the children's ministry at the Vineyard Church in Anaheim prior to his conviction. Church leaders eventually became concerned about Hartman repeatedly pulling children onto his lap and changed his responsibilities.

A Twin Cities day care worker is accused of taking nude photographs of some of the young children in his care. Wednesday, prosecutors charged 39-year-old Eric Allen with having pornography on his computer and phone.

Allen worked at Mount Carmel Child Care Center in northeast Minneapolis. The day care center is part of Mount Carmel Lutheran Church. The pastor there says they terminated the suspect when they were informed of his arrest. The church had no other comment.

Allen eventually told investigators there were pictures of girls from the day care on his phone, he also admitted to being interested in young girls. Investigators found 1,200 photos and videos on Allen's phone, which is still being processed for evidence.
