To give the correct answer, one must know exactly how powerful Sentry in his released Void state was at that time.

Sentry was a monster, literally, during that story arc. He was laughing off all attacks till the good guys got their hands on Norn Stones and received a NOTICABLE amp. Despite all that, he was suicidal and wanted to die. If he fought back like he meant it, no one on Earth could have stopped him.

If you want to see how the story could have played out, read "What IF : Siege of Asgard." He kills everyone on Earth, destroys the Earth, then flies off to the moon to kill the Watcher.

The Norn Stones were a damn powerful amp. Before that, nothing they did even registered in any meaningful way against Sentry. After the Stones, they were actually affecting him.

Doomsday isn't a god. That happened in DC. We going by Marvel rules. In Marvel, killing a god is a big deal (and Ares is one of the 12 Olympians).

Wolverine is great and all and is overall underestimated but the way they have been writing Hulk for some years now, it would take LT himself to do an hour long prep with Tony Stark to take out the Hulk.
