Jedi: Battle Scars came out recently, and I've been listening to the audiobook. At one point in chapter 11, Cal reminisces on his duel against against the Second Sister in the Fortress Inquisitorius. He expresses belief that the Second Sister was still superior to him, and the only reason he won was because he wore down her emotional state by making her relieve her trauma with Cere, weakening the Second Sister's connection to the dark side. He's firmly of the belief that he wasn't skilled enough to beat her in a fair fight.
