Looks like Vader just casually used the Force to expel the spirit of the Spark Eternal from Aphra without any sort of explanation. That seems like more of a Sidious level feat, but I guess if Vader can easily do things like that, it might explain his control over the GI's spirit too.

I chalk it up to all of Vader's tampering with Sith sorcery the past couple decades. From the stuff he learned from Momin, to the stuff he was researching in Vader Immortal, to what he did with the Grand Inquisitor. He's honestly become a seriously capable sorcerer, with a wife knowledge of esoteric dark side abilities. Vader is also just casually above several ancient Sith in this comic, since the Spark Eternal has had no issue dealing with the Sith of its time period.

I thought this wasn't a Sith spirit/artifact thing? That it was just some weird tech thing that amplified the wearer or what have you?

It is a sort of spiritual AI tech, which makes it even more strange to me that Vader was able to just easily separate it from Aphra like that.
