This is WBH. gladiator goes into this fight fully confident that he can win, and his confidence cannot diminish at all during the fight.

how does it play out?

Even at the full confidence, Gladiator is just a Superman-tier character.

Hulk rapes him and forces Abhi to lick him clean afterwards.

Hulk would win eventually, even if it takes a long time.
Don't see a way for Glads to hurt Hulk.

I only argue speed against Supes fanatics. Debating with a normal person, I would auto say Gladiator over powers his opponent if I think he can win.

Lesser Hulks (and Thors) have stood their ground against Gladiator. Worldbreaker would one-shot him.

And IIRC, at least during the time frame, Hulk was amped, I think being a conduit from energy from another universe. I believe someone pointed out a different writer wrote that so might not have taken it into account but it was going on at the time in the regular issues so canon wise Hulk was more powerful than normal.

Yes, people say he was amped, but during this entire run he was more angrier than ever while at the same time, he was dying.

He also had a sharpnel in his brain that was killing him as well.

OK, I was wrong about which fight as I only knew of one and just glanced at the thumbnails.

And so? Could that not be he couldn't handle the energy and that's why he was dying?

That's not Gladiator at his best. More of a low showing.
Gladiator easily has the strength to toss or his Hulk into space (full confidence).
Gladiator shouldn't have got hit by Hulk that soon into the fight. His speed and perceptions shouldn't allowed it.

Characters fight with full capacity in a forum. Instances where they aren't fighting at full capacity in a comic holds little water.

Gladiator will land the most hits because he's faster. Superman will land the most hits because he's faster. Wonder Woman would land the most hit because she's faster but none of these people are untouchable. They don't blitz around like dbz characters during battle, no matter how much you want them to.

Yeah, but it's Spider-Man. He is well known for making such terribly inaccurate power level comparisons and similar statements. It's his whole thing. If anything, it only validates the comic.

Also, this goes nicely with Deathbird boasting to be almost as strong as Gladiator

And Cyclops going fisticuffs with him, but that one is not canon, sadly.
