Why does people think Invincible characters durability is weaker than main characters durability from DC and Marvel? Is it because equals or superiors hurt them? We've seen kryptonians get holes blasted through their hands and arms, jaw knocked out of socket with one hit, bones blasted through them like butter. We've seen asgardians get their hand chopped off, eyes stabbed out and all of this was either done by peers are by a sharp object.

What makes Invincible characters any different? Nukes, planet explosions, the sun, none of that hurt them, the only thing that bypass their durability is either their equal or someone who is superior.

They seem to bleed and break faster, but its hard to say whether they are more squishy or whether its an artistic style that has influence on age rating.

They lack the writer's armor/plot device godmode on purpose.

In Marvel & DC, you have powerless street levelers surviving Class 100+ punches sometimes --- or getting all shot to hell or blown up and so on.

Nightwing can survive getting wailed on by Roland Blockbuster, even though we were shown even a glancing blow from him is lethal to normal humans.

Stoic
It may be artistic choice, because When Omni Man fought Supreme Supreme wasn't exactly punching holes in him.

Against people that are far more powerful than them.

It's because they are equals which is the reason i made this thread. It takes beings more powerful than them to hurt them.

Kirkman loves gore, so that's what we see in virtually any series he writes(including Invincible.)

But I've never bought into the whole "characters from the Invincible-verse are squishy" rationale.

Kirkman claimed that Omni Man was as powerful as Superman. I personally have trouble believing his claim, but he can make his characters as powerful as he likes.
