Who wins?

ODG
^ Do you mean the DC Vertigo original fallen angel? The one that actually preceded Lucifer?

Thinkerer
Yes.

It was an angel that preceded Lucifer? Lilith?

Satan, not Lilith.

Senor Cage
Probably Knull

Satan, not Lilith. Isn't Satan Lucifer? I'm confused

No. In DC they are two separate beings. First of the Fallen = Satan. Lucifer is Lucifer (aka Fourth of the Fallen).

No clue. In DC, First of the Fallen AKA Satan is the oldest being in existence with the exception of God. He pissed God off and was cast out. He predates everything.

In Carey's series, Death did state that Lucifer and Michael were God's "first big ideas", or something along those lines... And although it was heavily implied, I can't remember if it was ever explicitly stated that Lucifer was the first being in Hell -- just that he was the most powerful being in Hell. /shrug

Either way, I'd go with Knull here. First of the Fallen never really impressed me.

Almost as confusing as all the origins of hell lords in Marvel.

Created by the being of which the Infinity.Gems are a leftover, then they were spawned during the creation of the universe, created by the Elder Gods, created by Dormammu (Satanisch), it makes no sense anymore.

^ There's a real world reason for the disconnect between the First of the Fallen and Lucifer. Either way, Garth Ennis did his best to not encroach on Neil Gaiman's story. Both of them had their own stories to tell and they are both seminal classics of comics literature: Hellblazer: Dangerous Habits and Sandman: Overture.

Dan Watters seems the last author to have a say and he did exactly the same when he brought John Constantine into the same panel as Lucifer. He had never met Lucifer until then, John had only met beings like him.

Keep the two separate. It does not necessarily denigrate Lucifer's character.
