Motorcycle gangs don't really interest me particularly, but I like the cast. May watch at some point.

riv6672
I dig it.

Robtard
Director has a few good movies under his belt, like the cast and setting.

Hm, I haven't seen anything he's done.

I think I intended to watch Midnight Special back in the day, but never got around to it.

Loving, Midnight Special and Mud are all worth watching.

Midnight Special and Take Shelter are both very odd and I like them both. This looks like his most "normal" film to date.

Reading that this director had plans to do a Aquaman movie, Would've gone with the Hook hand version.

Noticed Michael Shannon is in the movie and doesn't even get his name on the trailer.

riv6672
Wow, really?
Is it that small a part maybe?

That's a good point. He's been in some big stuff and definitely deserves top billing. Maybe his part isn't very big?

Does this mean it's going to be another tax write-off or something and we'll never see it?

This shit is getting old.

Been reading this movie was getting Oscar buzz too back in September

so much that happening now.

It's New Regency that have made the decision to sell it away from Disney. My guess is Disney were wanting to limit its cinematic release window then put in onto D+ as quickly as possible and New Regency wanted a longer run.

^^^I can see that leading to a rift.

Old Man Whirly!
I read the cast learnt a period Chigo accent based on recordings from the 60's.

The official line is because Disney wanted it released on Dec 1st and New Regency wanted to delay because they've not been able to promote it properly because of the strikes. I'm presuming Disney is desperate for releases that actually make a profit.

Khazra Reborn

The 2nd trailer shows more of Norman Reedus's character, He's barely in the first one.

Robtard
Still looks good.

👍 Definitely. And I thought it looked good in the first trailer anyway.

Should also note that Jodie Comer is fast becoming one of the most outstanding actresses...well...ever. Her range of roles, accents and languages is mind-blowing.

Plus, you'd slap her with it.

Robtard
Opening up in a few weeks, still hyped over this.

Patient_Leech
I've heard some hype over this?..

People always wishing Hollywood would do original stuff, and this is it apparently..

I bet half those people that complain about Hollywood not doing original stuff, Won't turn up to see this movie.

Robtard
Not sure this is an original story. Plenty of biker gang films, family gang films, mobster films.

Still hyped though, going opening night levels of it.

Robtard
Enjoyed it start to finish. Sets, costumes, bikes, cars, props etc, were all on point.

Butler and Hardy were both good. Comer was great.

My only real gripe was the terrible job on the mouth piece they hard Reedus wear. He's supposed to have rotten teeth but it didn't fit his mouth right, looked bad.

Patient_Leech
Will probably try to watch this at some point.

Khazra Reborn

Robtard
Heh, yeah. He clearly took cues from Rebel Without a Cause, didn't bother me though. Fit the setting and the character, imo.

Great performances all round from the cast but a bit of a let down plot-wise. Certainly not "Goodfellas on motorbikes". It never really had any intensity to it beyond the bar revenge scene.

Patient_Leech
^

Yup, watched this. Super meh.

Jodie Comer and Tom Hardy and Michael Shannon were highlights. Other than that pretty boring and lacking a story.

You didn't find the plot super lame, especially for the big 3rd act excitement of Jodie Comer trying to get Benny to leave the biker gang life behind? Ugh, what a bland f#cking story.

I mean, it was good performances and well directed, I guess. But just not interesting enough.

I didn't, it was nothing new or spectacular plot wise, but very few films are.

It was a story about family. F-A-M-I-L-Y.

Patient_Leech
I'm not sure Vin Diesel would agree. 😒

Robtard
Tom Hardy would kick Vin Diesel's ass thumb up
