who wins this Boxing matchup?

Adonis won't be able to affect Rocky even if Rocky just stood there and allowed Adonis to hit him

Adonis wins a solid UD (decision).

Adonis isn't strong enough to take down Rocky but Rocky isn't skilled or fast enough to keep up with Adonis. What happens then is that Adonis uses Rocky as a punching bag, racks up points, then wins via an easy decision.

Adonis might get knocked down somewhere in the middle rounds while he gets careless but that should immediately put him back on his toes.

He's been hit many times by regular looking punches.

Apollo is more elusive than Adonis and Rocky caught him.

The big problem here is if Rocky catches Adonis then it is an instant ko. Rocky is far stronger than anyone Creed faced.

Adonis' technical skills are far more advanced than his father's and light years ahead of Rocky. Yes, Adonis has been hit before... by other top contenders of modern times. Sure he'll get hit by Rocky, but not so much that he'll be in danger. It's not like Adonis has a glass jaw. In the end, Adonis is just far more skilled than Rocky and should win a boxing match due to points. Put them on the street however and Rocky wins.

You seem to think these two are evenly match physically.

I see you don't know much about boxing, let me educate you. Ali actually had pretty bad boxing technique, but he pulled it off because he had tremendous speed and reflexes. Apollo was patterned after him.

Rocky Marciano also had fairly crap technique and almost no footwork, but he pulled it off due to insane conditioning and heart coupled with strong punching power. But it should be noted that the vast majority of Marciano's opponents were very small heavyweights, usually weighing under 200 pounds. Balboa was patterned after Marciano. Rocky Balboa in the movies is a small heavyweight, only weighs around the 200 pound mark

Adonis is bigger, cited to be around 215 pounds. And, as you mentioned, has been known to slug it out every now and then. So this idea you have that Balboa can just run through him is baselss.

Balboa does not hit harder than Viktor Drago. You know, the guy that Adonis beat? Neither does he move as fast nor has technique that can compare to Viktor, nevermind Adonis.

You forget that Rocky 4 base was Ivan Drago who was superhuman by a good margin. Everything scales from him since we actually see the numbers he put up. Drago, at peak, punches with 2250 psi. With an approximately 4 square inch of striking surface this will equate to about 9000lbs (4.5 tons) of force. This will kill ordinary humans easily as it would crush bones with ease and smash organs and the brain.

You're confusing punching power and toughness. Just because Rocky can withstand Drago's punches doesn't mean that he himself hits as hard as Drago.

Drago's punching power has got nothing to do with Rocky's punching power. Holyfield punches significantly weaker than Tyson but he was still able to beat him. Same with Mayweather and Pacquiao. Same with Ali and Foreman. Just because you can beat someone doesn't mean that your punching power is in "similar vicinity" to theirs.

Rocky 6 he went to the boxing commission to get a fight license and they said that his brain was cleared and healthy to box

Creed 2 Rocky says Drago "broke" something inside of him

Rocky 1: He does one last fight before he retires
Rocky 2: He wants to retire because of his eye, but fights anyway
Rocky 3: He retires but has to prove himself to Clubber Lang
Rocky 4: He retires but has to avenge Apollo Creed
Rocky 5: He retires but still fights his protege in the street
Rocky 6: He's retired but has to prove he still has what it takes

These films are brilliantly written.

To be fair, things like this actually happen in real life. You're forced to retire from fighting due to a medical issue. Wait a few years to heal, find a more lenient medical practicioner or board, get cleared to fight again even if you're not completely healed. Basically you just need to prove that you're "healed enough" to fight.

To be fair, this is mostly a case of outdated fight choreography. It's the same thing for sword fights and kung-fu fights for Hollywood movies in the 80's and early 90's. It's not specific to just the Rocky flicks.

That's why the Creed movies have better choreography. They're newer movies with younger actors and more modernized choreography.

I get that and in non-sports movies it doesn't bother as much, but if you show something like boxing, a real sport with rules and techniques and a long history behind it, it honestly becomes quite stupid to be that far off from reality (unless satire or whatever). It couldve used some balancing.

When it comes to feats now, its hard to compare to the newer movies. Rocky is basically made of concrete, the way he can take a gazillion blows from a guy that punches like he got steel fists.
