I see the logic, but Knull has those darkness projection powers. How would the Flash even see his approach? Does the Flash possess the defenses to resist or even remain outside of the darkness aura that Knull projects? Look at the Surfers battle against Knull for a better gauge

Not saying impossible for the Flash to win this, but just saying Knull isn't going to tire, IMO, Knull will eventually overtake any mortal version of the Flash.

However, if we are looking at the Surfer or even Sentry as being weak sauce in comparison to DC characters, we'd have to dig a bit deeper than just...
