could the best fictions in anime/manga compare to those of marvel and dc through history? AoT and Berserk are the only ones that you'd hold up to the very best of western comics.

I'm a huge fan of Cowboy Bebop... which I consider very much a satire of multiple genres, e.g., noir, slapstick, romance, horror, westerns, sci-fi, etc. But the anime was it's primary manifestation and the music of Yoko Kanno elevates it well beyond the bounds of comics/manga pages.

It's simply not fair to compare the silent pages of comics/manga against the Cowboy Bebop anime.
