I remember the book being pretty damn good.

Haven't read any Stephen King novels, But this looks interesting

good to see Mark Hamill continuing to get more roles besides Star Wars.

Patient_Leech
Ah, Francis Lawrence + Stephen King. Say no more. I'm in.

Francis Lawrence is an underrated director.

FunFact: The Long Walk is King's first novel. Though it wasn't published until almost two decades later.

Oh, interesting. I didn't know that. I've never even heard of it.

If it's his early work it must be pretty punk rock?

Robtard
He wrote this while in college and 8 years before his first published book Carrie. When it was published in the 80s, it under the pseudonym Richard Bachman.

I've never read, but I do generally enjoy his book to film adaptations.

Patient_Leech
King's film adaptations are hit and miss to me.

Some masterpieces like "The Mist" and "Misery" and "The Shawshank Redemption" and some stinkers like "The Dark Tower" and the recent "The Monkey."

I like "Dreamcatcher" and "The Shining" and the recent "IT" diptych, too.

Robtard
He defo has some turd-level adaptations. eg Dreamcatcher and Sleepwalkers were dirty ass to me.

But I probably like more than dislike.

riv6672
Well its not really HIM that has crappy (or even good) movies. Its the ppl that adapt them.

This one doesn't look particularly cheesy.

Exactly

some of those people nail the adaption's and some don't

Frank Darabont & Mike Flanagan seems to be some of the people that know what the hell they're doing.

Some of the cheapo ones are still legendary. The Stand, Storm of the Century and The Langoliers are all awesome, cheesy, retarded messes.

Kazenji
The Langoliers i wouldn't mind see remade again.
