Did anyone else see it?...Committed relationships my foot!. The part I don't get is what would make someone want to come on this show as one of the people who are supposed to try to seduce the people in the relationships? It's pretty much Network prostitution. IMHO.

I've heard of this on the news. I guess its a twisted way of testing how strong their love is for one another. Its also an excuse to pull in the viewers. I'm assuming Dim you watched it.

They would never get away with broadcasting that in the UK.....possibly on Channel 5

Most shows on tv suck anymore. Its all this reality based stuff and most of its not any good. It all started with the Real World on MTV and that wasn't too bad, but now they have Survivor, Road Rules, Big Brother, The Mole, and now Temptation Island. The only shows worth watching anymore is the Simpson's and Seinfeld re-runs.

JM3838, you're scaring me. That's ALL I watch anymore are Simpsons and Seinfeld reruns besides sci fi movies. Some of us are spending entirely too much time here.

I think Holland runs the lead in dumb shows. We originated 'Big Brother' and now they're developing another great game show: 'Who wants a sperm donor'. You probably won't believe it, but after the succes of 'Who wants to marry a millionaire' they thought this might be a nice idea for women over 40 who still want a last minute child.

I heard about on Capital radio in London. Also, on Yahoo news yesterday it said that they have discovered that one of the couples lied and they actually have kids.

Whayt kind of parents would put their family life with their kids at risk in this kind of BS.

Well the couple got kicked off but, as I heard it, not before they had worked their way through the beds of half of the temptation boys and girls who were put on the island with them. Apparently they were like a pair of rabbits. Sounds to me like they planned it that way.

People in the UK will be getting a taste of "Temptation Island" this Thursday. It looks like this will be a new low for Sky One.

But you know something, I'm still gonna watch it...

Okay...for UBH's sake lets explain the concept of the show..

4 couples go to this island for 2 weeks where they are split up and the men go to one camp and the women go to the other. 13 people of the opposite sex stay in the same camp as the partners.. (13 women stay in the camp where the 4 guys in relationships stay and 13 men stay in the same camp as the women..) The contestants date the singles and the singles try to get them to cheat on their boy/girlfriend..Another componant of the show is that during certain meetings the show's host shows unedited footage to the contastants to show them what their boy/girlfriend has been doing..So of course if the boyfriends sees his girlfriend fooling around then he gets made and fools around to get back at her..and then she sees that ...so on and so forth.

Is the divorce rate dropping in the states? Sounds like a show lawyers could come up with to keep up the divorce rate.

Well, the whole point is that there couples are unmarried and should not have children.

I think, though I may be mistaken, that they are all engaged and this is supposed to be a test to ensure that their future marraiges will succeed.

OK, well seeing as you asked....

Actually, for the opener I thought it was quite good. The dynamics of the 4 couples relationships and the way they viewed each others tastes was very interesting.

However, you could see that in the main they had resigned themselves to 2 weeks of no consequences, even though, in the cold light of day there undoubtable will be.

I do think that, even with this strong start, the series was already on a downward slide to shockumentary even in the last 10 minutes of an otherwise enjoyable hours TV.

I don't think that the couples are as strong as they think they are and I'll be interested to see which couple it was who cheated on the qualifying for the show. Please don't tell me, I want to be surprise.

It is an interesting concept though, separated from your partner to spend two weeks of allegedly inconsequential abandonment. Of course there will be consequences, but looking at them talking away from their partners you get the impression that they thing there wil not.

OK, so here's the thing, I am afraid I have to admiot that I think this show is GREAT.

These 4 couples are on such an emotional roller coatser, it's unbelieveable. I don't go much on the "dates" and stuff but the bonfire ritual and hearing them talk about how the feal for their partners is real emotive stuff.

Looks like RC will start a Temptation Island fan club.

Anyway, I just read an article about NATPE, the world's largest tv market held in the US. Sounds like Temptation Island is not so hot after all, Americans seem to prefer a show like Love Letters. But extremity continues nevertheless, there is even a show in the US called "Who wants to date a Hooters Girl". Maybe we should play that here.

OK, Themptation Island, I wanted to hate it, I really did, but I can't. Watched show 3 last night (Day 5&6) and I was hooked from start to finish.

I think you have to be a british citizen to get subscription to the Sky channel, at least for Sky sport.

There used to be show called Tutti-Frutti on I think it was the German satelite RTL+, maybe UBH knows it. It was a striptease gameshow and they had all these showgirls barely dressed with only a picture of a fruit covering their breasts. So Hooters is only a pretty prude version of that,
