anyone else notice the startling similarities between hitler and voldemort? both want a pure race, neither are pure themselves, both did mass killing, both even look vaguely similar (dark hair and eyes) . what d'you think? who else do people in the books remind you of?

but hitler was incredibly clever though rather then voldermort hitler never killed a singel person he brain washed millions of people to do his dirty work for him unlike Voldemort goes house to house seeing who is on his sdie and kills them himself if they werent. but there are simalirties to the two hitler and voldemort start off as good people then turn into crazy killing machines.

Voldemort is a mudblood, but seeks to eliminate all of those not purebloods. I'd say there are some striking similarities to the two, even beyond that.

All those things which sorta reminded me of the quest to try and get the philosophers stone that creates the elixr of life that makes the drinker imortal and then in the 5th book the quest for the prophecy.

They are alot similiar and in an interview before the 4th book released JK even said that Voldemort reminded her of hitler. The news people had asked her if she can relate any of her characters to anywhere else and she said him and the whole thing that one of the school teachers acted like one of her teachers that she had in school. She wouldn't say which one though. I have done alot of reading up on her lately.

yeah, i agree too. there is a line where the similarities stop (the magic) and they start to grow apart, like where hitler got people to do his dirty work, whereas voldemort got his hands dirty. i think the whole pure blood thing probably comes from hitler himself(the ideas of jk) and its kind of scary that there are humans like voldemort.

If voldemort is as evil and powerful the wizards say he is, then why did he not use his power to control the muggles and be an evil dictator like hitler?

wizards are way stronger than muggles and voldemort despises them...hitler actually brainwashed jews to kill eachother and then killed them afterwards so i guess that could work....but i doubt she would make him do that

and he would not keep using magic for torture and everything! the subsitutes for magical torture and things can be more painful and take longer, so you can keep using it until they brake under the strain!! Then it will be even easier to have the victims brainwashed!

id like to learn more about how and why they killed there fathers. i read voldemorts fan fiction life on the dark order but its not there anymore. it said that voldemort found out where his father lived and killed every1 there. he was a meber of the circle of light but moved to the dark side after he killed his mfather. he then put the cru- on the orphanage worker person who abused him badley. it mad me cry so sad. he lost the only 2 things he loved in his life which is why he went to the dark sside. his mother, the cafertia lady at the orphanage(she died of cancer and was a squib who took care of ickle voldeypoo) and lili his girlfriend. it was a good story but i can't find it anymore. its called i am lord voldemort. it told me how he got his name voldemort and how he created the dark mark. so sad, wish i could read it again. o well enough of making u all feel bad. is u want details send me a personal message.
