discuss what could very well be the most disturbing movie of all time. no other film gives us a better insight into the psyche of a mad man. plus it has one of the most chilling scenes of all time, when henry and his sidekick otis video tape themselves killing a family of 3. absolutely haunting. anyone else like this mvoie?
A Talking Dog
I loved it and agree with you fully.
Though not violent at all, it is disturbing like hell, which makes it the most watchable of the seriel killer movies.
BackFire349
yeah, it makes you used your mind to complete the murders. never actually shows them fully. well sometimes, but usually we only hear the murder and see the aftermath.
Klear Eyez
Damn @ never seeing that

Henry was one of those rare flicks that I rented without ever knowing anything about it. Will it suck? Will it be cheesy? Will it deliver? I was blown away by this movie. Too freaking real. Money.
Striel
I didn't like this movie. I found it boring. I have read a lot of true crime novels, so maybe I was simply let down...
BackFire
There's yet to be another film about a sociopath that is as widely recognized as believable as Henry is.
Cinemaddiction
I'd say any of the Hannibal trilogy movies trump that easily. Ralph Fiennes in "Red Dragon" especially.
BackFire
Please, did you see Hannibal? That was pure, unrealistic garbage.
Ralph Fiennes was good in red dragon though. Micheal Rooker was more convincing as Henry though.
Cinemaddiction
I was moreso implying "Red Dragon". Ralph Fiennes just came off as more "disturbed", just because he had less interaction with whoever he was around.
But like I said before, Mike Rooker was great.
Striel
Red Dragon was my least favorite of the Hannibal Lecter movies.
Although I will say the actors in all the movies mentioned did a fantastic job.
BackFire
I can see where you're coming from cinema, but the psycho in Henry is more of hte non linear kind, he was kind, charming and very normal around people. I think that's what made him so eerie for me.
ralph fienes was more of the ultra nut job that was always acting wierd.
DeNiro
MY spanish teacher wont watch Henry-poask again becaus ehe found it to disturbing i luved it thought it was bone chilling a lil slow at first but then very creative and real
HockeyHorror

I finally got my hands on this movie,it was insanely hard to get a hold of here and when I finally found a renter that carried it, it was never in..but any way..
this movie was very clever and disturbing.
bf is right the scary thing about the main character is he seemed completely normal even boring, which is what the real killer was but underneath he was one frightening individual who liked to kill and have sex with his victims corpses.
to me thats a frightening thought...someone who seems mild and incompetent easily could but people at ease with him just to have him violently torture and kill them.
though I'm sure some would contend about realism since he never really killed o'toole. I believe that and some over the top scenes like the video taped family was really a ode to how the real Lucas and o'toole continued to make up crazy stories about their killings to the point of ridiculousness.
they obviously paid homage to that fact when Lucas was talking about how he killed his mom..the story changed 3 times.
I like the not in your face violence and the way it had the power to truly un-nerve me,good find BF.thank for the recommendation
The Redeemer
Excellent film. What made the infamous taped home invasion sequence so near nigh unwatchable was it's almost documentary look and the reaction of the two low lives taking their sick pleasure from rewatching it.
