what else is dumbledore hiding what other secrets has he been keeping
what else does dumbledore know about harry
charmaine
let me see your comments people
Ass Goblin
i reckon dumbledoor can see the future and knows what will happen to V and Harry but he wants to keep it a secret
ladyblueyes
ok lets look at it this way..............Dumbledore is the gr8est wizrad of all time.... apparently if he could see into the future he wouldn't need Profess. trelawney would he?? i think that he is looking out for harry in his best interests and it caught up to him...but...i think he learned his lesson and he will not keep ne thing else from harry
dage8_8
I think Dumbledore is a great character. For some reason I see him sacrificing himself to save Harry in the last book. Hope it doesn't happen, but if it does I am sure that he will forever be a part of Hogwarts.
charmaine
i think it may be dumbledore who will die i reallly dodnt want him too though
pottermad
yeah... i mean dd have always been a mistery, ppl sometimes think he's a dark wizard for crying out loud!! but well i just dunno he is very weird!!
Darinda
Did you see the new dumbledore ..Scary.
LadySlytherin
i dont think the new one was good at all. his voice was alot deeper and he spoke mad fast!!! anyways back on topic...ass goblin...dumbledore cant predict the future, and in a way i guess he CAN read minds. i mean if he could've taught harry occlumency then he's probably a skilled legilimens, so every time harry's lied to him he KNEW what was wrong in the first place, and probably could create scenarios leading up to the final problem. so in a way he was prepared...is any of this making sense?

FoamyFan
As most of you know...Richard Harris (the man that played the old dumbledore) passed away...

he was 75....this thread is in honor of him and the great joy he all gave us when he played in harry potter.....He Will Be Missed
CoolWizard
Brilliant idea for a tribute thread! Many here may not know this, but years before he played in Harry Potter, Richard Harris was King Arthur in the 1967 movie musical, Camelot.
He was the best actor and his replacement in HP just lacks the charm he brought to the role of Albus Dumbledore. He will be missed.
hotsauce6548
He was a great Dumbledore, and not to be an ass here, but isn't this thread a little late?
tigress
lol @hotsauce, but yes he is a legend and noone can play Dumbledore like him.
Orlando´s Angel
thats for sure. . . i know about that when it pass in the oscars 2003, and it was so sad . . . i almost cry . .
He will be missed a lot
oceanflame
yea the new dumbledore doesnt have taht same twinkle in his eye
CoolWizard
No one could do Dumbledore better than Richard Harris. I also recommend you guys get hold of the Camelot DVD. Harris is superb in that as well.
pretty angel
in a magazine i read richard harris wasnt going to play dumbledor but his grandaughter said she would never talk to him so he ended up playing dumbledor and yeah he will be missed
you-know-who
yes i agree that he will be missed very much both by his family friends and die hard fans.... i dont agree that this s late.. its never to late to make a tribute..... mr. harris brought on exactly what i thought that dumbledore would be like especially the way that he talked.. his soft voice made him seem wiser and older, now i do have respect for his replace ment but i agree that he does not have the twinkle in his eye and its just not the same...
mr. harris will be and is missed very much...
CoolWizard
Our loss is Heaven's gain, as I see it. I watched Sorcerer's Stone last night as a kind of private tribute.
FoamyFan

last night i watched him in harry potter and at the end...i cryed
my parents think i am going a little bit overbord....but i liked him...he wa slike my hero....

i miss him
i heard he died...and i was like "oh no!!!!!!!!!!!"
he was a great man as well....the first time i ever watched harry potter... i was thinking "wow! this guy rules!"
and i dunno if you guys have read it...but in the book "the prisoner of azkaban" he was AWESOME!!!!!!
and yeah cool...your right.

I think the only person really who couldve followed Richard Harris would be sir Ian Mkellen as Dumbledore but he wasnt available, I didnt really warm to Gambon as Dumbledore but we'll see how he is in GOF, but its such a shame we lost Richard hes a legend
CoolWizard
Ian would have been a cool Dumbledore, not as good as Harris, of course, but a good one, instead of Gambon.
~Air Angel~
good idea............we didn't have a tribute thread for him!

FoamyFan
thank u!...yeah...ian mckellen is my hero!
CoolWizard
Still think this is a super tribute, seeing as Air Angel said there wasn't one before, Foamy. Looks like you got the ball rolling and what a job you have done!
Has anyone else besides me seen him act as King Arthur in Camelot? It is an old movie from 1967 and is now available on DVD format. You guys should try to get a copy online or something. It is a treat and he SINGS!!!!
FoamyFan
SINGS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
WOW!!!!!!! his real voice or fake? *puts King Arthur on MUST RENT list*
CoolWizard
It is his real voice, and he does a lot of it too. I rented it with my mom last week (she wanted me to see it b/c I'm such a fan of his) and I was blown away by it.
FoamyFan
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
*puts on RENT NOW LIST*

RIP, my friend of many years..........
sownaj
the person who acted as dumbledore in harry potter 3 is not liked by most harry fans including us. he speaks fast not like the one in first two films. Moreover, most of the important part of the story were neglected by the directors. So we humbly request the directors to make sure that all the important adventures in the 4th book must be included in the 4th film. And we also want the date of publication in India soon
Morning_Glory
wave hi ...??
WindDancer
Welcome to the forums sownaj.
Moving to Harry Potter forum....
RebelPhoenix
I understand what you mean, but hey who knows, maybe we'll get used to him
I don't know the date of publication in India though I'm afraid

- is it not on the official website?
ladygrim
sorry if this has been done before but i find the new 'dumbledore' for POA is more of how i pictured him i mean the richard harris was good but i dont think his softness in the character was scary enough for some one like voldermort to be scared of ..were as micheal(sp) is more hmm i dont no how to put it but im sure u kno wat i mean..........
which do u prefer ?
TheSun
The new Dumbledore is a hippy, absolutely nowhere near as good the original actor for the part.
Englishpin@pple
If someone could please tell me!!!!!!!! Thanks

TheSun
Dumbledore is not Harry's grandfather. The question was asked on jkrowling.com, and JK shot down this theory - "why would Harry have to stay with the Dursleys?", I think is what JK said.
ladygrim
GRandfather

TheSun
No, he's not Harry's grandfather. That's just silly.
shaber
Hamm has a powerful voice though? Isn't that suitable?
Joscail
I believe Gambon is doing a good job, but he doesn't have the flow that Harris did. Gambon is acting as dumbledore in front of a camera. Harris made the dumbledore whose essences was too large for the camera to do justice to.
LonDon06
I loved him in Camelot, Richard shall be missed, he IS Dumbledore.
eezy45
well I think McKellen looks way too different from Richard Harris.
He was a great actor - but aren't there like 4 or 5 other Harris threads?

MountDewLuver
*bows head* Mr. Harris you will be dear to all of our hearts, we will miss you my good man. Thank you for the entertainment and the grace of your love.
~Air Angel~
I read something the other day on JK's website....about Dumbledore and his scar...........I wonder what happened..... it said he got a scar in London....and JK said she might tell us by book 7...that she was VERY fond of his scar.
Also she said that his patronus is a Phoenix and that he himself is very much like a Phoenix........... maybe Voldemort fears dumbledore b/c he cannot die????? Just a thought...........
ladygrim
hmm good point ...surly a character that old has died a number of time s..:lol
~Air Angel~

True.................makes me wonder though.... he has a scar and Harry has a scar.....................very peculiar if you ask me! I know dozens of people have scars in real life...but this is a book..............
I am still hoping that D-dore ends up being Harry's grandfather!!!! After all it was up to him to give him a better home.....a "non-wizard" life.....
ladygrim
hmm it wud be cool but wot if dumbledore scar was also given to him by someone like voldie

orlandoOYEA
I read a rumor that Dumbledore is Harry in the future. Its ridiculos of course and JK rebuffed it but if you think about it, its actually a really cool concept. Being there for your younger self, watching and remembering your younger self do things. Its crazy but then your older self had to be there for your younger self at one point and that means D dore is continuous...*gets headache* this whole time thing confuses the crap out of me. I tried to think in the third one about it but i ended up with a headache then too.
impatientinky
ooh. i read all the rumours about ron being DD, not so much about harry being DD, but basically where one person is someone else. but JK said on her last update of her site a week or so ago that everybody is who they are. noone is someone else from the future. i thought those theories were possible cause poeple had great arguments for them, but i'm glad noone is someone else.
Unicor777
Michael Gambon in an recent interview:
' P: Do you understand the first thing that's been said in Harry Potter?
MG: Well, I read the script and learn the lines and I try to understand. I have to understand it, don't I, sort of... Quite often I don't know what's going on.
You can see a video of his appearance on the'
No wonder he portrays Dumbleodre very bad, I mean he is not even near to what Richard Harris managed to show of Dumbledore. I mean, to play such sharacter as Albus Dumbledore one needs to read and understand the books, and most important to like them,. otherwise is a lost battle. I sincerelly think they should change him, immidiatelly
