Can you all scan pics of yourself?I've already seen Dim and Ratcat but post again anyway please.

You first bud...Actually I've had my eye out for any pics of me laying around...I'd just as soon the mystery of my image be out in the open. I guess I'm going to have to get the hubby to snap some shots...but I have to be sneaky about it. He might get the wrong idea if I tell him I want a pic of myself to show a bunch of guys on the net

As to the big belly comments, thanks Dim. Actually it's not as bad now since I lost 42lbs but I was tipping 280lbs not so long ago and it was abit of a belt buster!!!

Only another 22lbs to go 'til I'm happy.

Hmmm, you're about the 100,000th person to spot how my son looks like me. Actually if you take pictures of me at his age you can't tell us apart.

I've yet to break it to him that he's gonna grow up to look like me...

EJ you'd better tell RC what kind of set up you have...Do you have photoshop? Do you have the software for the scanner installed? What's it called?

General settings 75dpi is fine if you scanning a normal 8x10 photo, at least 256 bit colour depth but 16bit is better.

Normally, if the scanner is all set up properly you will have an acquire image option in you scanner compatable package. Anything compatable with Win9x should be TWAIN compliant. (TWAIN being the driver/protocol of image capture devices)

It's all hooked up, have you got as far as getting it to scan or self test yet. May sound like a pathetic question but when I first got my scanner it took us 3 days to get a self test done and after that it worked like a dream.

I can't...I looked for info on Canyon Express but couldn't find anything. EJ. You're going to have to go looking for the stuff that came with the scanner. Where's the manual? Who set it up at your house anyway? ask them...Short of that I can't do anything unless you want to send the pic to me and have me scan it...

Actually RC, I emailed EJ and he said that he thought it was an Adobe program. I told him to look for Twain under the file>import option. Is that right, or is whether it's Twain dependent on your scanner?

Twain is a scanner standard so it's the same on any PC and I believe it's the same for a Mac.

Sounds like he's maybe using Photoshop.

Tings to try.

1. Always switch the scanner on BEFORE you boot the PC. I always end up having to reboot because I foprget this.

2. Under the file menu (if this is Photoshop), goto to import, there should a Select TWAIN source or similar. Click that and if your scanner is correctly installed in Windows then you will be able to click on it from the list (I assume you use windows 95 or 98???)

3. Once that's done, set up you pic and the fo back to PS and choose File > Import > TWAIN and it should give you a scanning screen.

4. Run a PREVIEW scan, once this has done use the mouse to select the area you really want to scan and adjust the dpi and colour (sorry color ) settings as I suggested in an earlier post.

5. Once scnanned, check the results, if you like then save and upload. If you can't get the result you want send it to me ot Dim with the settings you used and I'm sure we can advise you.

Where are you going to put you picture once you scan it? Do you have webspace?

My scanner doesn't work just now but what do you think I look like? Keep it clean

I think me and King Jedi are clones. We are the same age and I also happen to be 6 foot, short brown hair and blue eyes. Strange huh? I can't do a Scottish accent though. Not to save my life.

I don't have a scanner, but I am 6'1 and about 180 pounds, with brownish blond hair, and brown eyes. It always surprises people when I tell them that I love Star Wars. I guess I am not your "typical" fan. When people think of SW fans they think of "revenge of the nerds" type deal. That always pisses(sorry for the language) me off that SW fans are put into a sterotype. I am proud of my SW collection and whenever I meet a chick(sorry Dim and Gundark, and anyone else) and we talk and they ask me my favorite movies I tell them ESB, and then a tie between the other three films. I always get a weird look, but most times its not a big deal. I just hate how the public looks at SW fans, I guess the saying goes "a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch" Sorry to vent like this, but its nice to get off my chest. And if any of you are these types of fans thats great, as long as you love SW you are okay in my book.

I just love all you crazy people. You're such a scream. I think girls get more wierd looks than guys when you tell someone you're a star wars fan. I met a friend of my neighbors the other week and the neighbor (Bill) said his friend (Brian) was a big fan. We meet, shake hands and I immediately launch into my usual tirade from Biggs to Binks. He smiled politely and offered very little comment. He told Bil later that "Lisa takes Star Wars to a new level". Being a hard core fan, I simply take it as another left-handed compliment. Anyway, back to topic...I am totally clueless as how to get a photo on this thing, but when I have time I'll give it a whirl. Total boring truth here: Medium brown hair to my waist, brown eyes. 138 pounds last time I got on scale. Glasses when driving at nite or in rain. No mustache. Ankle bracelet and nice engagement ring. Hubby to be doesn't know a Jawa from a Hutt, but smiles and is polite, then rolls eyes behind my back. BUT STILL A TRUE FAN !!!!!!!

About my weight I posted above,I was just guessing on that.Today I found out that I am 175.

I think I am 150 pounds, but I'm not certain as I only know my weight in stone and don't entirely know how to convert it.

Yeah, he's 4 and just tall enough to do most of the good rides and WDW and USF so he had a great time doin' all the stuff he could do in 98 & 99.

God,how many times have you been there?I live very close to Florida and I only went to Disney World once.

I went there once five years ago with my family. Loved it. I really like Alien Encounter at Disney World. Busch Gardens is good too. Loved the Kumba.

I went there when I was 7.

I was 15.

I went when I was 6 and had a great time, then again when I was 14 and it was kinda boring

Well, I went for the first time in 1990 (I was 22), then in 98, 99 and this year. I'ma bit of a Walt Disney World fan, it's right up there with Star Wars on my top ten list of favorite things.

Probably won't go next year as the current plan is to make another baby but that's subject to two blue lines!!!

I went to Disney when I was 18, which was in 1981. We were waiting in line at Space Mountain talking to some guy who said he used to work there. He said when he worked the Space Mountain ride, some loudmouth guy from New Jersey was in the back seat of the back car and kept putting his hands up in the air. The employees kept saying "keep your hands down and stay in your seat". The ride goes and comes back and the New Jersey guy is missing his head. This guy we're talking to said everybody was freaking out and they had to shut the whole thing down and hunt through the whole building for this guys head. I said, "yeah, right, I never saw that in the papers" and he says "when did you ever see an accident at Disney in the papers ? They don't let that stuff leak out." Freaky, huh ?

OK, this is getting serious. This will be NUMBER 87 on this topic and no one else has managed to put up a picture yet.

Well,here's the thing.I can't scan and mail a picture without mailing confidental files I scanned with it.I don't know why.I tried mailing a drawing I drew and it just back fired on me.Big problem.

I went to Disney World when I was 10. I rode the Jaws ride first, and I was sitting right on the edge of the boat. I freaked out and pushed everyone in my row to the opposite edge of the boat when Jaws popped out the water.
