What is the one true and best singer? (not a rapper but a singer) someone that you think is the best and does not have to be the best for everyone.

I have to go with Enya. Her voice is pure beauty!

I have to agree Freddy Mercury was awesome!!!

IMO: Queen was one of the best bands ever.

There are so many great singers.

My personal fave is Christina Aguilera, her vocals are amzing. I also really love Amy Lee's voice (shes in Evanescence) and I love Enya too.

Jennifer Lopez has a really good voise. I like Avril Lavigne too and Craig David is cool

Ian Gillain, David Bowie (he sounds terrific live) Robert Plant, Jeff Buckley and off course Glenn Hughes (as mentioned before)

Amy Lee's (Evanescence) voice gets me every time - especially on "My Last Breath". The range of her voice is incredible! I have to agree with Freddy Mercury as well - he could sing like nobody else...

however i think if your talking about the best singer, male...i would have to say hands down Elton John. I have never heard a man projecting so much through his voice and music, especially his earlier stuff, his late 80's stuff was a bit questionable i guess coz he was having a bad coke habit. But his really old classic love songs are amazing!

i really luv Pantera as u can see what my status says but i think the best singer is phil anselmo the lead singer in panteras band. i think pantera is deffintly the true american rock band that has ever played and Phil is so awesome also so it fits his voice can go from one extreme to the next

Maynard J Keenan is the greatest, no doubt about that, but Christina Scabbia and Daryl Palumbo come close.
