Working in the pre-hospital care environment for the last 8 years I've been in a quite a few places with dead people in them. Some have died through natural causes others through illness and trauma and sometimes I get this feeling that I'm being watched from some point nearby. I've never to my knowledge seen a ghost but I always nod my head in respect in the direction of the feeling. Probably nothing but it makes me feel better!

'Haunted' car runs man down

MILTON, Ont. -- It was like a scene out of a Stephen King horror novel -- an abandoned car stunned onlookers by suddenly starting itself up and running down a bystander in an auto auction yard.

The bystander -- Steven Meades, 52, of Shallow Lake, Ont. -- ended up underneath the car, a 1991 standard-transmission Eagle Talon.

Witnesses to the incident lifted the car off Meades and ripped off its battery terminals to kill the engine, said police in this town about 40 kilometers southwest on Toronto.

Meades was taken to hospital with internal injuries and was listed in serious condition yesterday.

Sgt. Frank Phillips said a preliminary check offered no hint of explanation for Tuesday's phantom driver, reminiscent of King's bestseller Christine, a 1983 novel about a possessed car.

"The key was in the 'off' position -- they can't explain it," he said.

The incident began at about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, when someone hooked a temporary dealership plate onto the back of the car and slammed the trunk.

"The car took off when the trunk slammed," said Phillips.

even tho i write ghost stories, i am totally rational explanation girl... my friends door constantly opens, silently, eerily, and she believes its a poltergeist. she did not take it kindly when i pointed out that the door doesnt shut properly and the floor is uneven, so the door swings open...

My aunt has a ghost that turns off the tv when it thinks the kids have been watching too much. She lives in a realy old house in Amish country.

I thought Amish dudes were supposed to not watch tv. Isn't it against the law of their cult?

My aunts not Amish, she just lives near them. She gives them rides to the city in exchange for food and stuff.

Anyways, havent you ever gone into a old house, and felt as if there is someone next to you, you know when a person stand next to you feel the air change as the walk towards you, but in this case you feel the presence but there isnt anyone there.

What if its not a hunting ground, but infact a mass religious cult practised killings there, perhaps the entities exist, thats why sometimes late at night, you walk to the fridge in the middle of the night wanting a bite or a drink and u feel that chill as u walk back to ur bedroom, u feel like someones watching you in the darkness of the living room..............

When my Socks died and we buried her I kept seeing her ghost. When I was little, I went Barnsley Gardens at night and took the tour of the house with my aunt and my brother. Outside we heard people giving out orders like military men. I also felt a presence there besides my aunt and my brother. The woman who owned Barnsely Gardens died there and the house is creepy. One time I felt really cold at one particular spot.

I think I might have had a few unusual happenings. One of them is:
When I was really little I used to just stare at the wall in our dining room and talk. My parents kept hearing me talk to someone but they didnt see anyone there. Finally the asked me who I was talking to and I replied that I was talking to an old woman with white hair. I tried to describe her more (I cant remember what I said now) and my parents were kinda confused. My great grandmother had passed away before I was born and to this day we joke about me talking to dead people.

Then Ive had the minor things like walking into my room @ nite time and all the lights are out. I go over to my closet and jump a bit cuz I fell a hand on my back but when I turn around nothing is there. It felt like an older persons hand so I started to worry about one of my grandparents. But they were fine.

my house definately had some supernatural entity in it or something. I always dreamed frequently of ghosts on the stairs there when i was little, however they could be dreams or memories. my mam says we had ghosts on our stairs but they were friendly to me and her but, since she was going through a rough time with my dad, they were very protective and ended up pushing him down the stairs.

My mam also had an experience walking into the kitchen. she felt a sharp stabbing pain in her chest and said she had a bad feeling to me. Later that day we found out her cousin died in a car crash, impaled through the chest by a piece of steel.

perhaps the spookiest one was in the new house some 10 years later, i had a carriage clock of my nanas on the fireplace. It may be freaky coincedence but, the clock stopped at the exact time of when my nana died, i mean exact to the second.

I so believe in ghosts (dont make fun of me ) one night i was sleeping and i woke up cause something grabed my leg and squeezed it really hard, wen i look around my room no one was there i went into my moms room she was sleeping.. and wen i went back to my room i looked at my leg and there was a big hand mark on it.. that scared me so much i never let my arms or legs hang over the side of the bed anymore
