Wizard Battle! Galdalf and Saruman vs Dumbeldore and Voldemort

Lord of the Rings vs Harry Potter...only with wizards!

The gathered casts of LotR and Harry Potter bear witness to the battle between the two most powerful wizards of Middle-earth and the two mostpowerful wizards of the Wizarding world.

The kid gloves are off. Anything goes in this matchup. Better take cover.

I don't really remember the LotR wizards doing anything too fancy. Nothing comparable to the ones in Pothead anyway.

That's cause they didn't. Gandalf repelled some Nazgul with a beam of light, that was the most impressive thing.

It's 7 and 1 you are looking for.

True, he did pwn t3h Balrog.

Read it, and yeah there are some good points.

Though in all honesty, Voldemort with Avada Kedavra can kill either Saruman or Gandalf easily. He can use it quicker than they can use their powers as well. Then it's Dumbledore and Voldemort vs. whoever didn't die...Or Voldemort can use Avada Kedavra again.

And Superman has what to do with this thread?

My bad. I was reading too fast and saw Saruman as Superman. Sorry about that.

Yeah, while their literary counterparts would probably school Dumbledore and Voldemort, their cinematic incarnations get owned, terribly. Gandalf and Saruman only demonstrate telekinesis and the ability to make a stone glow in the dark; Voldemort and Dumbledore are capable of teleporting, shooting beams of pure magical energy, summoning gigantic fire serpents, creating a veritable wave out of a fountain's water, collecting it in an orb, and nearly drowning someone, flexing their arms and shattering every piece of glass in a gigantic ass room, summoning that glass in a hail of energy, erecting a shield that turns that glass to dust, et cetera.

Many people seem to be basing their facts entirely on the films. Gandalf and the other wizards are immortal spirits sent by Gods. They had their powers limited so that they didn't just blow up all the bad guys (the Gods wanted the men to do the work and be reunited by it.) Gandalf actually fought the balrog NON STOP FOR TWO DAYS AND NIGHTS!!!! and that was after chasing it for 8 days. So yeah he's badass. He does not require his staff to use magic, he says "your staff is broken" to Saruman and his staff breaks, he melts swords etc etc.

The magic used in the HP franchise wouldn't harm the LOTR wizards, it's simply too weak compared to the magical forces Gandalf and Saruman deal with on a daily basis. The HP guys might as well be throwing confetti at them.
