Is it? If I way 900 pounds, I guarantee you it isn't pure muscle. Plus one is organic while the other is mechanical so I dont think its entirely fair to hold them to the same weight standard especially one of them shrugged off an actual nuke.
We're talking a few hundred tons for the Jaegers, and 100,000 tons for Godzilla. Explain to me how even being made of an Inferior metal to Godzilla's flesh and scales makes a difference? You're right they cant be held to the same standard as Big G is on a level they cant hope to approach.
Hundreds of tons of Jaegers? The Jaegers are much lighter than Godzilla, but not that light. Gipsy alone is about 7,000 tons, and stands around 288 feet, according to some stats. Even low-end estimates are at 2,000 tons plus. And it has tanked getting smashed through skyscrapers, hits from monsters larger than it, huge explosions etc.
I mean Godzilla wins this, but it's no reason to lowball the Jaegers.
On a random note, I can understand why Kyle Hill gets upset when they have like 6 helicopters carry a Jaeger. Even if they only weigh half of the low-end values online, they would still be way too heavy.

So, been looking at some seemingly official stats. Jaegers tend to be between 240-290 feet in height, and around 2,000 tons each (though weight does vary a bit here and there). So, yeah, the height difference isn't the biggest thing, but that mass difference is huge.
But more importantly, not only are the Jaegers themselves much lighter, so are the Kaiju they have fought. Even Slattern is way lighter. So, they are not built to fight something as heavy Godzilla. Probably couldn't even budge him.
Though, not going to lie, some of these Pacific Rim official weights are phucking retarded. Someone really does not know how to translate mass to size accurately. Have monsters almost a 150 feet longer than Godzilla weighing in at less than 10,000 tons.
Edit: Well, this is convenient and seems to be a fairly accurate scale:

But yeah, according to info I could find, the monster there of comparable height to Godzilla apparently weighs less than a tenth of what it does lol. But eh, that's the info we have.
