Interesting thing about Coma is he isn't just for show. It's confirmed in behind the scenes interviews, and you can actually kind of pick it up from watching the film carefully, that he was basically the War Boys' equivalent of a bugler, who relayed orders from the front via guitar rifts, hence why he had his own personal vehicle with huge speakers mounted on it.
